Been in Stafford for nearly half a year now but still looking for a decent gents barber/hair cutter. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Adagio for strings is quite decent -

As is Eastgate Street - though i have to say i'm in no way an haircut connoisseur; e.g. 'A Google User', one month ago, was moved to write

There are better barbers in Stafford.
so who am i to argue with such a detailed and impassioned review.

Took me a while to find one but I now use Petes Riverside Barbers, 30A Millbank opposite The Yard, never had a bad cut.

To throw the proverbial curveball...

The Barber(surgeon)s are the last (?) profession with an omerta-style Wednesday closure.

It is a thing to be admired - though if you do want your hair to be cut on a Wednesday, the place next to the Odeon (is this right? Ed) is the only actual Barbers open.

Hairdressers do not follow the code, and are only too willing to charge you considerably more during this brief period of business activity curtailment.

Without wishing to appear rude Mr Baldrick, your hair looks like you have a toothbrush cut. It must cost you more in hair gel than it does have a trim.

A barber(surgeon) is there for you when you want your hair(limbs) cut shorter than it(they) currently is(are).

They took their choice in 1745, and you shouldn't be all presumptuous.

Do you want your hair cut or not?

Cool thanks for the advice, not too fussy, just want somewhere decent that doesn't cost the earth. Will take a look at your suggestions. Thanks again.

i've been through plenty of Stafford based barbers in my time, some oh so pityful ones, went as far a field as Eccleshall, anyway, best one is Barbers@ST17 (Weeping Cross), though they're selling up soon, they say it's going to stay a barbers, if not, i'm once again on the look out for a decent barbers myself!

+1... shame if so... I think the chap said he was itching to get back to Oz last time I was there IIRC

...they're both itching to get back, i listened to Kerry, whilst cutting my hair, talk about getting back to; the sun; the sea; the sand.

I just hope someone who works there has the intiative, willing and backing to take it on, what an opportunity!

It's always busy (enough i'm sure) when i pop in on a Saturday morning, every other month.

Ive been going to Barbers ST17 on Bodmin Avenue, Baswich for a few years now. A bit pricey at about a tenner, but always a great cut !! After all " Im worth it " :)

Thread resurrection. I have been using Sams Barber Shop near the prison since it opened and thoroughly recommend it. Nice guy, reasonably priced and does great things with clippers.

What Peter said.

I used him while he was at Penkridge in the square, and I followed him here when he opened up in Stafford. Cheapest in Stafford, lovely bloke and very thorough. Not just a 3 minutes short back and sides and your done.

Exactly that, never seems to hurry to get rid.
