I thought I would share with everyone a real find I have found in Stafford. Due to personal issues I find it incredibly difficult to keep on top of cleaning which often used to mean the house would become a real mess. Like a REAL mess. My attempts to fix this weren't great, I would often fall down the stairs with the hoover following soon after, spilling things and probably causing more mess than I started with. Needless to say I have other talents.
It got to a point when I decided something needed to be done, so we got in contact with several cleaning agencies, and also put out private ads. They were often very expensive, or often had issues with flexibility (due to our circumstances we needed someone that could "fit in" and possibly be re-arranged at very short notice- we're awkward...). I was also worried that we would be severely judged, as when I say I'm untidy, I mean untidy. I don't mean to be, I just don't see things until it builds up or someone points it out to me. The thought of having someone to deal with the consequence was utterly mortifying, I tell you! We also had the issue that we have a young, very excitable puppy (working on this but like teenagers they have their moments!) that isn't the worlds biggest fan of the hoover, so I felt that comfortableness around her was a real deal breaker.
A friend reccomended maidinstafford and I tell you it is one of the best decisions we have ever made. When I asked "So...what was the worst house you cleaned?" (fully expecting her to say "YOURS!") she said we don't judge, anything you need doing we will do.
In the past, she has done washing up, emptied bins, changed sheets, cleaned the oven, washing machine etc, all without being asked. I feel I can leave our pup with her whilst she is finishing off after her walk and she feels very comfortable. I don't feel awkward her being there as she is so easy to talk to. She has her own key and is able to work magic- we have had 3 hours and charges around £30- if I remember rightly she did a discount for the first clean.
