Was thinking about turning them into VPN devices and sticking them onto my GFs and parents routers. Put a USB storage device on too and I have a cheap NAS that will also bridge them onto my server at home.

He reckons that if it wasn't cheaper to manufacture the things abroad (component tax/finished product tax), they could have happily churned them out on their currently idle production line as they're geared up for such things.
