It seems easier than the hassle I had reading Amstrad 3" disks a while ago.
Does your BBC B have an Econet port? I'm sure I saw a DIY Econet card for the PC a while ago supported by linux.

We're getting too far away from the Raspberry Pi, so I'll say thanks for the info & suggestions, I'll get there in the end - maybe.

Still somewhat off topic, Cotton Candy doesn't seem any competition for Raspberry Pi, especially at £139 a time - http://www.fxitech.com/

Im guessing one of these with a USB hard drive would be a good and cheap media centre for my camper

Yup, and low power too. If you used a USB stick instead, you could even run the whole thing off batteries. Apart from your TV anyway.

I'm going to be using a pocket projector, I've fitted a blackout roller blind behind the driver/passenger seats ready for it. The leisure battery should run it all, just need to figure out an easy way to switch over to 240 when on hookup.

RS confirmed my order just now. 3 weeks to wait. This is my second (sneaky) order. It looks like i'll get both in the same week.

I have mine, but TBH doubt I'll have time to play for a few weeks. If you want a sealed one now, you can just give me one when yours arrive?
