No, you should be able to change it. I have just tested it with a test account, and it definitely allowed me to do so, and the Location was automatically updated in the postbit (i.e. underneath the message count/likes/etc.).

Are you definitely allowing enough time for the Personal Details page to update after clicking the Save button?

Mine seems to have changed now too - I waited a few moments after pressing save as per admin's post, seems to have done the trick

Ah, could be a similar issue to what I've had at work. I use ajax to push database updates on the fly, but if you move page before it finishes the data doesn't always save. The save button in my case was a placebo, as people like to see one.
