I've just tried to do one and can't narrow it down.

To be honest it wouild come out as mostly Utd players anyway. How do you choose between the likes of Cantona, Hughes, Rooney, Best, Charlton, Robson, Keane, Scholes etc. Many of them would be good enough to get into a lot of people's first XI anyway. How do you filter them?

When you're spoilt for choice with just Utd players, how do you then squeeze in all the others?

Kanchelskis ahead of Beckham? And redondo? He was good for a few seasons but all time 11?

Controversial descisions but each to their own. :)

I'd take Kanchelskis over Beckham. The word pace springs to mind. He didn't even need to cross the ball either. Most of the time he's just cut inside and hammer it past the keeper anyway. Wicked player.

See Jimbob re why I'd pick Andrei ahead of David.

And your comments re Redondo are insulting. In his pomp he was untouchable. ;)

I doubt your team could match up to mine BBC. :)

You've also picked an overrated keeper and an overrated centre back who struggles against anyone with a bit of trickery. ;)

Roy Keane against Stevie G - only one winner there. Latter isn't fit to lace the legends boots.

Roy Keane vs Alan Shearer. We all remember who won this one :)

I'd rather have Beckham's crossing ahead of the russian express's speed. If he was that good how come he ended up at Everton?

My team would win. End of.

You aren't referring to the red card at St James's Park are you, when he threw a slap as opposed to a fist?

Tut tut if you are. If it came to knuckle sandwiches I know who my money would be on. Beating up the likes of Stephen Carr in training and a pissed up Keith Gillespie when he'd fallen over in his hotel room doesn't make Alan 'nails'. :)

Anyways, it'd be a good game that's for sure. Used to enjoy seeing Waddle on the wing. Cracking player.

As for Kanchelskis and his career path after Utd, you're aware his agent was a memeber of the Russian mafia and such moves generated a lot of money for his agent and his friends? He was a pawn, nothing more unfortunately. A world class player but a bit of a sap who liked the murky KGB underworld a bit too much. He's a shit hot chess player now believe it or not. :)

Only one winner here Gus! ;)

I hope/dream of Shearer and keane going head to head as managers of the Toon and the mackems. This would be an 'interesting game'. I don't believe all this bollox that keane has made up with mccarthy now. As Alfe inge haaland would surely testify, this man is a truly nasty piece of work who doesn't forget or forgive!

Kanchelskis was a class player. I never understood why fergie sold him but this is obviously why. Waddle and Ginola both world class wingers. What i'd do to have them in the Toon now. But if milner keeps crossing the ball like he did last night i'll be happy.

Oh and another thing Sir Nicky of Gorton of whatever it is you call him, he was class for us last night! First time i've been able to say that but hopefully the best is yet to come. :)
