Amazon Deliveries.

In our area (Bednall) we usually have the lovely Amazon lady who does the deliveries. I’m presuming she’s on holiday at the moment.

Anyway we were expecting a parcel to be delivered on Monday which didn’t arrive. When husband checked at bedtime he has a message saying “parcel handed to resident 10.20 pm”.

We assumed that it had gone to the wrong house and that one of our neighbours would bring it round on Tuesday.
We also thought it a very late time to be doing deliveries.

Last night I sent a message to everyone on the village e mail list asking if anyone had got our parcel.
Someone replied that they too were expecting a parcel and received a message saying “handed to resident 10.19. She lives round the corner from me.
The another friend in the village said he’d had a knock on the door from a very odd Amazon driver after 10.00pm asking if this was such and such house. When he said “no, it’s the wrong house” the driver swore and picked up about 6 parcels and went back to his van.

Then my friend a few doors away said she got her correct parcel at 10.25pm from a very confused driver, but only her parcel.
So he was obviously in our road but didn’t deliver our parcel, he just said he did.

Then yet another villager said she was expecting 3 parcels which didn’t arrive, again with a message saying they been delivered 10.30pm.

My guess is that he’s taken over the round and just couldn’t find the houses although I’m at a loss as to why he didn’t ask my friend where our house was if he was so close. All our recycling bins were out that night so I’m guessing that they’ve been dumped.

The usual Amazon lady delivers to Brocton and also I think, Wildwood. Just wondered if anyone else had had problems over the last few days?

I guess when your GPS tracked and penalised for every second you waste you're less likely to spend time looking :(

Do you all have house 'names' instead of house 'numbers' like normal people have?

Because that might influence how much sympathy we have toward the parties involved.

Yes, to be fair it’s not an easy round.
Many of the houses do have names and not numbers and aren’t easy to find in the day, let alone in the dark.
My house has a number and he’d delivered to a house a few doors away so no reason that he couldn’t have delivered ours if he’s in tbe right road. He could have asked my neighbour “do you know where this number is” and she could have pointed to my house.

I have some sympathy that he was obviously getting frustrated but I have no sympathy at all for him saying that he’d delivered them when he hadn’t.
He should have just taken them back to the depot..
Husband contacted Amazon and they’ve given him a full refund.

Exactly, the current trend for deliveries to us is for the driver to try and access the back garden via the gate (which is always locked) rather than walking the 100 yards around the corner to the front door...

We get the occasional parcel lobbed over our gates into the office car park. These are for an address the other side of Stafford which shares one line of our address, completely different postcode. Amazon's response is that we should dispose of the package however we see fit and when the customer complains they will resend the items.

Why not have a sign put up on your back gate with instructions on how to get to your front door? It may help.

Re-reading that makes it sound like your house is MAHOOSIVE! :D

Where the little sister lives, no-one has house numbers, it wouldn't be feasable. So names it is.
She is ******* House Farm. Another is ******* Farm, lady just up the road is ******* Barns. There's a couple more too. I pity the poor postman and any other delivery drivers. Plus our little 'uns landlady refuses to have a name put on the end of the driveway/dirt track, because it then lets everyone know there's buildings there and farm machinary worth nicking.

It's getting to the point where I might....

It's not a massive house at all but the back of the house links to a large parking area and garages which is closest to the end of the close we live in. So the driver has to walk around some garages, along the side of the row of houses, then along to the front door....

Hi all, with today's parcel tracking system, life has become much easier for me personally.
But, do you have someone sitting in the house waiting for all of those amazon delivery's?

I unfortunately have a life and can't spend all day sitting on my bum waiting for delivery's, I have something being delivered tomorrow but wouldn't trust any of the local job-dodgers to accept my delivery and not steal it.... Let's hope it fits through the letterbox!

Son gets most of his deliveries here (often been caught out ordering to his for next day delivery for his day off , then finding it's got delayed and now due when he's at work), as well as ordering for me. I then sit in all day watching the window , but find it so much better with the Amazon and DPD tracking so that I at least have an idea when to expect it.

I wonder if that's why there's no sign of my Amazon delivery that I specifically ordered to be delivered today? Fuel Wankers?

I have been the next delivery for the Amazon bloke for the last 3 hours now. No matter how many times I refresh the page.
