Angry Cyclist.

Kind of reminds me of a Stephen King story called Christine. It was about a car that was haunted (well it is Stephen King.) When somebody got into the car their personality changed for the worse due to the evil spirit. Maybe that can work on a bicycle too .... :|

Saw a very angry cyclist this morning. He was coming round the roundabout at Queensville, when the Mercedes driver in front of me decided that she had had enough of giving way and entered the roundabout, knocking the bloke off. He was ok, fortunately but got very very angry when the car driver told him in no uncertain terms of was his fault because he was on a bike and it was his duty to give way to cars, as they paid car tax. Had to stand between them at one point but frankly I felt like allowing him to punch her lights out would be a public service.

Police called and attended quickly, they have taken a copy of my dashcam footage and apparently it'll be a toss up between the woman being done for Due Care or DD. (Stupid cow even gave the copper a mouthful).

Front wheel buckled on the bike, so we put it in the boot of my car and I gave him a lift home as he was shaking like a leaf.

That works for most cars...

As someone who has cycled in Stafford quite a lot, and shouted at quite a few drivers, I would say this is pretty much standard practice.

Was she not aware of the change in the law? Unbelievable!

It was very kid of you to help.... You should reward yourself with a bottle or 2 of red.

If it was the way I visualise it from the description, no law change has occurred to create any confusion.

You have to give way to the right at roundabouts to everybody, regardless of whether they are Big Rigs, Clifford-the-Big-Red-Bus, small cars, electric cars, mid-life-crisis-mobiles, or even lowly bicycles.

T'was ever thus.

The new additions to the Highway Code read more like - *Dude, you should really read the Highway Code, it says right there that you need to stop driving like a complete dick*

The fact that we need to remind you not to drive like a dick rather suggests that it has been your problem all along.

I'll be honest, the entire point of me asking if anyone had seen owt of him was from a place of "I hope that dude is still around and OK", nothing negative. There are people who have crossed the line earlier in this thread, in my opinion (those who gave his name out, for example), but I also think people will be better equipped to deal with him if they're aware of what his deal with which will also allow him to move through the world more peacefully (as exemplified by @littleme's comments) so it's worth talking about.
I spoke to him a few days ago, he's had an operation and now has a crutch... Not sure what kind of operation as the conversation turned to why are people driving cars when they didn't need to, and him paying for driving lessons and his licence was a waste.... Just after I asked him if he's ridden his bike to the shop with a crutch.... (he'd had his bike helmet & hi viz on, and a NHS crutch)

Anyhow, he was in good spirits, apart from being cross with car drivers, put his shopping in his bags, and stuffed his monster munch inside his jacket... And presumably ride home on his cycle....

Still nice, still polite, if a little ranty.
