Another tree gone!

Uncovering secrets used to be my job … these days of course it's just a hobby … :buddy:

PS … have had to add this in edit. I quoted Noah's post but he caught me fair and square, because of course the quote had nothing in it. I dismantled my computer thinking there was a fault then realised there were no words.
I've always had trouble with ship builders …. :emo:

How long before this happened? Work taking place on a very dangerous tree -
A large branch breaking off a tree not in a very good condition.
Lichfield Rd Weeping Cross near the Old Police HQ

Strange you should day that...

Did think as I walked past today that seemed a bigger gap with no trees than the other week , along with bigger piles of soil held together with roots and branches :hmm:

The bird of prey was still sat on a branch watching proceedings though

If I had the time I would love to do a foi request to the council to find out how many trees they have chopped down, how many they've planted and what varieties, how many trees with tpos on they've allowed to be cut down and what fines were imposed. Anyone fancy finding out for us? :)

Just been looking around there on Google Earth street view. The main road view is a few months old, but if you turn into where the Police HQ was you get a view from 2011 and the HQ building and radio tower suddenly spring out of the ground !! … it's like some kind of time portal … :haw:
It's amazing what a few years of growth can cover.

You can see the large scar facing you at the bottom, where a good-sized branch peeled off a month or two back (there's a picture on here somewhere*).

No doubt the whole tree will have been deemed "dangerous", as a result.

It can't be that old, North Walls ran through there until the mid/late 70s.

* Edit - no picture, it seems - http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/index.php?threads/another-tree-gone.14770/page-18#post-378466
I think this is it during its thicket days. (1978)

I think there's probably enough of these comparisons out there on Google maps to sit on it's own forum topic full time

The time it took you to type that you could have put in an FOI. but I doubt time is your issue, more like it is because you would have to provide your name in the public domain ;)
