Anyone Missing A Large Ginger Cat?

If you have lost a very large ginger cat then I am so sorry, there is no easy way to say this but I saw one at the side of the road today. Poor thing looked like he had been run over and placed there.

I knocked on a few doors and nobody knows who it belongs too. The man outside 166 Cannock Road (where the cat is) said that if it is still there in a few hours then he will bury it. I asked him to leave it for longer than that as someone might not actually realise that it is missing until later today.

I then went into Brocton Post office and the Postmistress said that she thought that she knew who it belonged to.

However, just in case it isn't who she thinks it is, I wondered if those on facebook could spread the word please.
It is horrid when a pet goes missing to not know where it is, so the sooner the owner finds out the better, even though the owner is going to be very upset.

I do have a picture of the poor little thing but I am not going to post it on here as it will be too distressing for the owner but if anyone wants to see it for idenification purposes then by all means PM me.

:( That's so sad .

My new neighbours have got a big ginger cat and we live more or less level with that part of the Cannock Road . He was wearing a black collar when I saw him earlier this morning. Hope it's not him :(

This one didnt have a collar on @staffordjas

Actually what I should have done is take it to a vet to see if it was chipped. I didnt think of that at the time.

A man working on the house wrapped him in a blanket, with his head showing, becauase he felt sorry for him just lying there like that.

@Carole - Are you ok ? It can't of been nice for you...
I was going to ask Carole that as well . Feel so sorry for both the poor puss and it's owner.

I've found a couple that have been killed on the ringroad by us in the past and still get upset thinking of them . My one dread when driving and I've always got my eyes peeled . Couldn't image what I'd be like if I hit a cat or dog.( I was in a right state when a rabbit ran out onto the motorway under my wheels a few months ago, other than swerve & cause a pile-up I couldn't do much else. But still kicking myself for being on that stretch of road at the time it ran across:()

Street Scene will deal with deceased animals, whether domestic or wild. I believe that they check any likely victims for chips, but I can't confirm that it this time.
The fabled Mohawk Pete was quizzed about this situation today and, whilst he couldn't give a definite "Yes, they will be scanned", he was confident that Street Scene do scan anything that might be a chipped pet and have located owners in the past.

In fact, he believes that they have two scanners. Ongoing enquiries are continuing.
