Armed Seige at The Radford Inn

Hi,

Does anyone have any information regarding yesterdays armed seige at The Radford Inn (formerly The Trumpet) ... apparently Radford Bank was mayhem!!

I wondered what was going on, there were loads of police cars/vans and an ambulance parked up just off the roundabout by Queens retail park and police controlling the traffic. Took us ages to get across from silkmore lane.
Anyone else know what happened then? I go in there sometimes, never thought it was particularly rough.

Thats weird...are you sure it was the pub? Only asking as my brother in law had a meal there last night about 8pm.

road was closed yesterday when we went near, could see a good 5 or so police cars, a riot van and what looked like armed police, near to the petrol station, anyone have an idea what it was?

Garage had just reduced it's donuts to clearance price

Don't know anything about yesterdays events at the Radford ,but last week (think it was last wednesday night and Thursday morning when I walked past )the field opposite to the Radford had 'Police Incident-Do Not Enter' Tape sealing the entrance to it.

My boss lives near to there and he went to Bargain booze and enquired they said it was the first house on the right over the bridge as you head to town from the radford bank inn that had a police raid. They said that were were hidden ambulances and cars and armed robbers over the meadows field at the back. I also know the Duty manager at the Radford and she said they took some items from the man who occupies that house and then arrested him. My other friend said that it was ' a misunderstanding over a fire work'.

I know the first two of my sources are probably right... but im definately not sure about the last! Either ways it inconvenienced me so i tried to find out what had happened!

I saw the police car and ambulance parked up on the driveway to queens retail park last night. They'd caused a bit of a traffic jam and cars couldnt get past (well a car tried to go past the police car and another past the ambulance and they met in the middle with cars behind both of them) was heading to town and assumed there had been an accident due to the ambulance. Saw police tape tied between a tree and fence up near the bus stop on wildwood's side. There was a piece of fence missing but I'm not sure if it's been like that a while.
What sort of time was there road blocking off etc going on?
