Anyone know of anywhere decent, thinking more Thai/Korean/Japanese than the usual Indian/Chinese. Visited Cheerful Links in Stoke last week which had some good stuff, but wondered if someone here knew a better place to visit.

I imagine that it is in/associated with the old NAAFI, now Londis?, shop.

That’s right.
I went on an expedition to Everest, in search of lentils. It was a bit difficult to find and once I stumbled on the building it took a while to locate the door. Inside there is what looks, initially, like a Spar-style supermarket. The fridges at the back, though, are filled with much more interesting stuff and there’s a kind of opening into an extended storeroom area which is where you get all the brilliant ingredients. There was a freezer in that area, too but I wasn’t brave enough to inspect the contents.

Was in cheerful links again at the weekend, had a few interesting bits in the 50% off section (read out of date). Not like most of that stuff goes off, got a few jars of what I thought was pad kra pao paste but realised when home it was sweet basil not holy. Interesting taste, quite liked it TBH!
