Any remember that year when b*witched performed live in the centre of town, must have been late 90s or very early 2000's . It was the very first summer live party in the middle of the centre, there were some other acts too? The acts arrived near I'm guessing Ethal Austin, where you could try and grab an autograph, and then they'd play on a big stage near the bank.

Remember it being a big deal especially in the Guildhall, Comtel were even doing a meet and greet with Bart Simpson and Homer 😂

Then it lasted a few years , then it sort of faded out as the acts got more z list.

Anyone remember it, it was a huge day, don't remember which body was behind it , maybe BBC or Signal 1? A shame it stopped tbh.

In addition to B*witched, that event also featured Billie Piper, Hinda Hicks & another (Corrs???) who all had breakthrough hits between being booked & appearing in Stafford. That would place the event in 1998.

Yes , that's the one, that's mad you remembered it too. Wonder why it sort of fell apart, it was quite the success, guess it was down to the fact although it was nice, it was a free event which couldn't be justified.

I remember this, didn't stay long so never saw who else was on that day. Also remember seeing Texas in the square one Christmas, which was great.

Ah Texas 2005!

Was that the same year we won the rugby and everyone sang sweet chariots?

Heart FM tossed T-shirts into the crowd and I caught one!!

Ha yes, I had a big brush on one of the members of B*Witched when I was a kid so I was excited to see them though we must have missed them performing. I remember seeing Billie Piper, though.

Also remember some bloke performing on stage climbing on top of a massive speaker and it falling over, sending him sailing into the crowd.

Because Signal started doing much bigger events at the Britannia Stadium and used the artists for those
