Baby groups.

Hey, so I've decided to get my anxious bum off the sofa and take my little girl to a baby group. Can anyone recommend any morning groups. I can drive but would prefer to walk. I live beaconside end of town. Thank you ☺️

I grabbed this list from the Stafford mums group on Facebook. It was dated Nov 2021 so should be pretty current, and there were more listed in the comments to the pinned post.

Won't that just lead to a sense of loss and weekly upset?
Of course but by the time Eric is 5 we will be back winning things or maybe when he's 10 or maybe 15.

Never did me any harm growing up supporting United in the 70s and 80s with only the odd FA Cup to celebrate whilst a certain other team in red won everything.

Guess this is something I'll need to look into soon! At what age do you normally start to 'socialise' a baby?
Pretty early on - less for the baby and more for the parents. Baby Sensory seems a popular thing. Things like baby yoga don't work that well once the baby can move.

Back when I took the boy to some bumps and babies groups we used to trek across to The Yard after it finished because it was always empty during the day and had loads of space for pushchairs.

TBH getting mum socialising would be great, but not sure how well it'll go. She finds it hard making friends, possibly due to changing country/culture so frequently she shares little in common. I guess the baby gives her common ground.

Yeah, having some kind of network is really helpful, especially at the start - most of ours came from NCT anti natal classes and grew a little from there.

Enjoying a drop of red.

It's going back a while now but Mrs p was in a similar situation. She ended up going https://www.jojingles.com/stafford/classes/3-months-walking which gave her an introduction to other mums who then recommended additional places that they went to, so that when the wife went she already knew somebody there, eventually making friends, since of which she is still in regular contact with 16 years later.
