My current record is £24 a pint (there were three of us, we had ⅓ pint each at a bargain £8) at Tilt in Birmingham, a couple of years ago.
I was paying £7.40 a pint for Sam Smiths Yorkshire Stingo the winter before last but that was in London and it's 8%.
Someone I know paid £8 for a half in George’s Bar at the Gilbert Scott Restaurant, St Pancras.
Very nearby in the Parcel Yard I’ve seen Fullers Vintage Ale at £220.10 for a 2000 bottle and £230.10 for a 1999 bottle.
The dearest I know of in the Midlands is bottles the 14%Eggenberg Samichlaus in the Post Office Vaults near New Street railway station.

It’s also surprising that directly opposite that sign on the A51 is a road sign warning the low bridge ahead has been damage & almost lying on the ground. It’s been like that for st least a year. (Edit. The sign, not the bridge)
Maybe the Bank House sign distracted the council official.

Or the council official received a PHAT brown envelope full of non sequential £20 notes to turn a blind eye to the Staf*cks signage?

Hilarious given the county council didn't care that Starbucks inserted their own information onto a public road sign at the Hough retail park...
and don't get me started on the country council putting up incorrect road signage by Asda telling drivers that the road to Newport is the A513...

Or the one at the Pennycroft end of Riverway that proclaims "No access to A34 Lichfield Road", without it being instantly obvious to the unwary non-local that it is tied to the weight limit sign above it.

The average car driver may be in the habit of discounting weight restrictions in general and you have only seconds to assess the situation as you turn the corner.

You will often see people turning round at the end of Fairway/West Close, attempting to comply with the perceived restriction. I once took pity on a bloke with a caravan and assured him that access was fully, and legally, available to him.
