Can't remember what brewery it was , but that makes Mr Careys 'Crossbow' rather expensive then. When I worked pulling pints there in 1974 it was 19p a pint. (Remembered well , as had to add it all up in my head )

Memories of our previous home...... The Paul Pry in Worcester had Titanics Plum Porter as a guest beer last night , Hubby stuck to Paul Pry Gold though (new improved and stronger version of their original Paul Pry casked)

Despite living in Porlock Avenue, I only ever went in the Crossbow once. It was fairly clear that I wasn't his target market...

That Guinness in 1975 is 23p a pint - I could live with that. I remember it 'progressing' to above 30p a pint not long after - and we went on strike for a few days.

This order occurs in a 1974 episode of Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads.

Half pint of lager.
Pint of bitter.
Roast beef sandwich + chutney.
Pickled onion.
Pasty.
Cheese sandwich.
Scotch egg.
Packet of crisps.
Two sausages + mustard.

Total = 82p.
