wanna see my snake?
The beardie was the hardest, cos I needed the right UV levels as well as all the heating etc. to keep him well. Once set up they're easy though, just keep an eye on the temperature really. Probably spent about £150 on his viv by the end of it.
The others are all very easy, as they are mostly nocturnal so don't require the UV lighting to process vitamin D12. A simple heat mat on a stat with a low powered bulb to simulate daylight on a timer and you're sorted. The geckos and axolotyls eat every other day, the snakes once a week. The axys are by far the cheapest, cost me about £3 a month to feed 2! The only downside is that the geckos eat live insects, so you can't mind having tubs of those around the house!
Used to have a tarantula too, but thats gone back to its original owner now she's got her own place. Someone had asked me to foster a 6' snake recently too, which I was more than happy to, but its gone to her daughter instead.
