I was not sure whether this was a joke or not but it is real. The Padding Oracle On Downgraded Legacy Encryption web server vulnerability issue sounds like someone's idea of a lame joke on a slow news day, but the phase, resulting in the acronym POODLE, represents a real problem.
It is known in more serious circles as CVE-2014-3566 but I am sure the acronym will produce the odd cartoon or funny remark.
