Bins / dog poo - Help, please.

I feel like I'm in an alternate universe when dealing with either of the local councils. They're all so disconnected from residents it's unbelievable.

Can anyone help me please. I've struggled to get my local Councillor engage in increasing the provision of bins in the North end so have gone direct to SBC and logged a request. The local Councillor told me it was pointless providing more bins as 'no one would use them'. Well they won't if you don't provide them you blithering idiot

So today, sick of carrying my dog poo bags for miles, I've logged a request for bins with SBC. True to my zero expectations the girl on the phone appeared to have no idea where I was referring to so I've had to create an account on the SBC portal to correct it but I digress.

I've requested they replace the bin that was removed with the new road, at the junction of the lines and the Doxey Rd, and also add one on the new road, Pans. I'm also going to ask for one on the Eccleshall Rd bridge by the allotments for the chavs that use McDonald's and then spew their litter all along that area as they walk home to hopefully use

If anyone would like to also log an incident requesting new bins in these areas I would be massively grateful for the support. Its no wonder Stafford is covered in bags of dog shit and litter give the scarcity of bins.

Girl on phone also told me that the Street scene manager decides on new bins, nothing to do with needs of residents then. My god!

TIA

Don't McDonalds have to pay someone to pick up their branded litter from the surrounding area?
I think they do some stuff but only in their immediate environs, certainly not more than 100ms from their doors as the trail of milkshake containers and burger/fries wrappers will testify. Just looks over the fence of the Eccleshall Rd allotments for examples! This location is ripe for a bin!

Good luck with Streetscene emptying the bins ! I walk the hound all over Stafford and the amount of overflowing bins just sums up our badly run council. If you can't even empty the bins how you gonna manage a £14 million budget to re-tarmac the town square !

I’ve found Streetscene to be quite helpful- if you report an overflowing bin they’re normally out quite quick to sort it. Reported one on hopton street last week that was soon emptied

Enjoying a drop of red.

Much as I like to give SBC a good kicking, because they usually deserve it, I too have found Streetscene to be helpful when I have needed to contact them.

Stumbled my way to this site by chance googled about dog waste and bins in Stafford.

Yesterday I submitted an online request for the addition of a bin or for a bin to be moved to cater for the entrance of the Isabel Trail at Doxey Road. There’s currently a bin tucked away on the disused railway bridge near N Castle Street which could be moved to a more effective position if they didn’t want to fork out for another bin.

Great :). I know about the tucked away one but I would argue that there is an en masse shortage of bins around and there is enough traffic at the Doxey Road junction of the poo bag variety to warrant both bins!

I suspect bin locations are about how the fit into the routes the collection drivers take. Trying to do as little miles as possible.

I'm sure you are correct. No regard whatsoever for the needs of residents. Knowing the idiots will vote for them over and over and over means they don't need to worry about providing even a semblance of a decent service :(

For info after contacting the council there is now a bin conveniently located at the end of the Isabel Trail nearest to Doxey Road.

Thanks. I did see they found an old one and put it up. I don't understand the reticence to provide bins across the Borough though?

Having said that it might just be a North End thing as there are 3 in about 200ms om the road along where the houses are on Castlefields that is now the new road between Doxey and Newport Road!
