Bird in Hand.

don't mention the blinds
Visited for a quiet lunchtime o'booze today, witnessed some old geezer who clearly had his grub go down the wrong way suffer with the consequences. (manic hiccups, thumping on chest kind of thing) In true 'Leave' fashion everyone ignored the poor fella and left it to yours truly to offer assistance, not that i'm medically qualified. .....

New gin menu at the Bird, no prices so I assume it must be free :)

Was the Bird In Hand ever a tied house? For some reason I remember Banks. I vaguely recall knowing a former landlord. (Through family).

My main memory is that they had the videogame Joust in about 83/84.

Bird was Courage throughout its glory years.

Pint of Directors?

No thanks, i'd like to live.

That's likely the time I recall. 83-86 ish I guess.

Ah the ruination of that song (not "Vienna" upon checking by Ultravox.

Sipping Courage from a crystal cup. Sorry I prefer Bass.

Apparently the wankstain at the Shrew thinks this is appropriate and "funny" after the fire at the Bird.

I haven't been in the Shrew in its Black Country Ales incarnation, so can't comment on the wankstaininess or otherwise of the current management but, given that it takes at least a few days to settle and tap a keg of ale, is this not more likely to be a coincidence than anything else?
