Bl**dy fireworks

Second night in a row I've been subjected to fireworks around 10pm. Who is having these displays and why have them so late?

In this crazy hot weather people have their windows open, often still open when they sleep and the noise is much worse as a result.

Move to Ireland.

The biggest 'firework' that a member of the general public can buy, possess or use is a party popper.

The odd thing gets smuggled in over the British border, but I haven't heard one there for at least a decade.

The law in Chile is fairly similar, too, I understand.

Oh you heard them too?

They were fired from the top of Kingston Hill. Some of them barely breached the top of the trees around it and sparks were falling into people’s gardens. Bunch of scrotes up there with professional grade stuff

We’re currently nurturing Bloo and coaxing him out from under the bed. Next door’s cats have evaporated, which is worrying as one of them was found quite a way out the other night so little worried they might get lost again

And as I write this it appears they have moved slightly further afield

It stopped, but has now started off big time. Can't sound your car horn from 11.30pm to 7am, but apparently fireworks are okay at 11pm.

These kinds of fireworks you’re absolutely not legal to fire off in a public space or residential area, you’re not even mean to be able to buy them at this time of year.

11pm - 7am you’re not meant to fire any off full stop unless it’s one of the days on the list of exceptions

Well, you can get anything on ebay these days.

You are not allowed to set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am except on certain dates (firework night, New Year's Eve, Diwali & Chinese New Year). You are not allowed to set off fireworks in the street or any other public space. Category 4 fireworks can only be used by professionals. You can be fined up to £5,000 and imprisoned for up to 6 months for selling or using fireworks illegally. You could also get an on-the-spot fine of £90.

Presumably these were Category 3s unless they managed to setup an entire firing system too, given Cat 4s have no fuse and are designed to be launched from a display controller or whatever they’re called

Heard the fireworks here in Wildwood as well .

Years ago fireworks were only let off on Nov 5th , and if it fell on a sunday then it had to be the night before or after. These were the nights everyone knew to keep their pets indoors to prevent stress.

Then a few people let them off at midnight on New Years Eve. Resulting in people letting them off at anytme during new years eve, then anytime anyone wanted through the year for whatever reason!

Gets me so mad that they are constantly being let off for any reason at all throughout the year, without a thought for anyone else or animals.

I was once driving down the Wolverhampton Rd and a massive bang went off, resulting in a dog owner walking his large dog on the pavement struggling to stop it charging into the road in it's panic. Made me jump, even with the music on in my car, so must have also scared so many other people , pets and wildflife. :(

The ever entertaining Spotted Stafford says they were funeral celebrations

I'm guessing anything on the 4th July maybe have been American independence related

I've been warned about that group :) But anyway, funeral celebrations? did they have a bonfire as well to save on the cremation costs?

A few posts under my belt
People on S.T.A.G are getting so mad about people being upset by it it’s mildly entertaining.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I have been told the fireworks set off last night in the area of Perkins were in honour of a 22 year old man whose funeral was yesterday (Friday).
