A boarded up pub in Stafford could be used to house a private collection of vintage motorcycles.
Mr D Bunning, who owns the site, has applied through Andrew Martin Associates for a change of use of the ground floor of The Antelope pub in Stone Road to become a private museum.
A design statement which accompanied the application stated: "The proposed museum conversion will not be open to the general public and will merely provide a warm, dry and secure area to store the applicant's personal motorcycle collection.
"On rare occasions however throughout the year, a limited number of likeminded enthusiasts will be invited to visit the museum by motorcycle at a pre-determined time to view the collection. Onsite parking will be provided by the paved frontage without causing any nuisance to the adjacent highway or footpath."
Mr Bunning bought the building and land in December 2014. The pub is vacant and has been boarded up for the last four years.
The design statement continued: "The fact that the business and premises have been on the open market for this period of time would suggest that its continued use as a public house is not financially viable. An alternative use for the site appears therefore to be the only remaining option."
All of the bar fixtures and fittings, seating, furniture, kitchen and some toilets will be removed, the central heating system and electrical wiring replaced, and re-decoration throughout.
There will be no changes at all to the external appearance and all doors and windows will remain the same.
