So I was making this poster for a little event we run and came up with a vaugly interesting idea and the question is...

Which of these would make you actually read the poster?

Is the first one too much? Too non PC these days? Or does the sex sells thing still go when no one pays any attention to what your trying to sell them?

I reckon the 1st one....not just cos of the sexy lady, but cos i prefer the photo-ie image as opposed to the one on the white background. Also because the 2nd one at a glance looks like it could be an advert for Sheila's Wheels, and that advert does my swede in...

It is from Sheilas Wheels and I Photoshopped the other 2 Sheilas off - otherwise they would have been car sharring and therefore reducing their carbon footprint! You wouldn't beleive how few decent pictures there are of women in fast/ big cars but wearing more than a ultra mini skirt or a bikini (or less)

Second one has too much pink in it making it look like a 'Ladies only' advert.
I switched off straight away - sorry (this could be due to the fact that i have two daughters and have seen enough pink clothes to last a life time)

definitely agree..

no question in my mind - the first one.. nothing to do with the risqué content, i just think the whole montage "gells" better than the first one.. to be honest, i didn't think the first one was inappropriate or OTT at all, so i'm not sure there's anything to worry about..

Surely the tagline is a pun on the classic female rhetoric, "Does my bum look big in this?" :q:

In which case, the first one makes far more sense - not only is the female protagonist "presenting" her bum for one's consideration, but she appears to be the type of lady who would be most concerned about the appearance of said hind-quarters..

The photo in the second doesn't really fit with the tagline, in my opinion.. Also, the car in the first has more of a high-performance look, again in fitting with the detrimental effect such vehicles have on the environment!

My thought exactly, Admin, unfortunatly there are far too many people thinking other people won't get the joke and I've been told not to run it. The free breaky is at Riverside Recreaton Centre from 7:30 - 10am. It's aimed at staff from the councils but anyone is welcome to boost the numbers.

that's a real shame.. i think it's a great idea for a scheme, but i can honestly say i wouldn't have even paid attention to the posters if the second idea was used, and would be none the wiser :meh:

ah well - them's the breaks!
