The telling you one thing and not following through with it is typical of many a 'professional' builder, plumber, odd jobbie etc that i've dealt with, and the stories i hear concludes that i'm not alone.

I feel for you Diane i really do.

This guy is going straight on my (ever growing) list of people not to employ.

I'm not suggesting it is acceptable what he has done, or if he goes down take someone with him! It doesn't change anything, the situation Still needs resolving and by talking to him and negotiating a new agreement something could be sorted, that's all I'm saying! He is from gnosall so he's not too hard to track down.

we tried talking to him on the phone but he said he doesn't want to talk to usanymore there is nothing he can say and we offered to sort the cash side of things out amicably and he still refused all I say is beware of him, hes left two jobs which have come to light just in my conversation on here so I am sure there are more out there

On that basis, i'd be going to Trading Standards and any of the trade bodies he is a member of.

Trading Standards will probably tell you to write recorded delivery to him giving him a week or two to agree a date to finish the work. If he doesn't contact you in that time then its small claims court time.

He's a fool to himself then if you tried to negotiate with him, clearly doesn't need the work then, but it Still doesn't help you. If you have tried everything else you probably best getting some advice, where to go from here then! Hope it all works out okay in the end!

Told you all to watch this space and I did say we wont count our chickens, the builder is now saying that I have stole his tools, didn't want a contract for a higher price in writing, I have verbally abuse his partner on the phone, this scum bag will go to any lengths he is now taking legal action against us if we don't drop this case so to speak it stinks I really am hating this as if we have not gone through enough, oh and also slander to his customers hes claiming and following him around stafford more than one occassion as if we would waste our time on an idiot like him please pm me if you can genuinely advise before we see our solicitor so we can get more opinions on this we seem to be in a terrible situation right now. I will not just let him get away with it we are not like that or even go against the law we are law abiding people and would not go against it because we believe what goes round come back round he will pay some time in his life the good lord is watching
