Can anyone tell me which bus is best to get from Stafford to Stoke hospital please? And which bus stop to catch it from (if possible) and any other info such as how close it gets to stoke hospital etc.

Thanks for any help

Unfortunately I didn't know and it has to be booked in advance (too late now as it's for tomorrow am) :(
Thanks though.

So far I think I'm looking at the 101 from either the train station or crab lane end of Stone Road. Can anyone confirm if this does indeed pass Stoke hospital?
Haven't had to use a bus for many many years

Enjoying a drop of red.
The 101 will take you to a road called The Avenue in Newcastle. If you get off there then it's a 10 minute walk to the hospital.

I am led to believe this is accurate but I have never done this route myself.

It costs a bit more but we always get the train to Stoke and a taxi from the station to the hospital the taxi only costs £5 but that's to and from the hospital to the station, we do it this way because it is a lot easier and quicker. The taxi we use is 01782855855 always reliable.

I should of updated that thread, in the end the taxi company said the bus had come and stopped at Stafford hospital and we were not there, they also had a nurse on the bus that backed there story up, this is what i was told by Pals at the hospital after there investigation, i then asked them if they had cctv outside the main entrance and if so does it overlook the bus stop, luckily it does show the bus stop and sure enough we were there in the bus stop so it was proved we were telling the truth, the end result was the driver and nurse got disciplined and the taxi company had to send me an apology which they did, still i would not trust there service again the appointment we had was for my misses it was very important and she had been waiting months to get it.

Just looked here is the taxi companies original email to me

Hi Darren
I would like to apologise for your missed appointment on the 10th February due to you not catching the 10 o’clock Link service,

We did have NHS staff onboard the bus who have confirmed that the vehicle did go round to the pickup point as normal but nobody was there to board, as soon our office was contacted ( approx 10.25 ) a normal taxi was dispatched immediately but as you can understand the taxi did have to come from Stoke so was never going be there within 30 mins,

I have a meeting on Thursday with the NHS regarding the picking up of the general public by the Link service as there seems to be some confusion as to where people are waiting & where the bus actually pickups,

I hope this incident as not put you off using the Link service in the future,

Apologies again

The apology i receive after the hospital CCTV proved we were in the bus stop and the shuttle never came was in the form of a letter.

I think this incident deserves a wider audience.

Well, I caught the 101 bus from crab lane bus stop on the stone road at 8:16am. It got me there in plenty of time for my appointment, and back again without issue. Bus stops only a hundred yards from Stoke Hospital entrance on both sides of the A34 so not a bad experience at all. Having said that I now feel particularly ill as buses make me travel sick. Got off the bus almost 2 hours ago and still feel rough now :(

Thanks for everyone's help

Good to know about the bus, but you have my great sympathy feeling rough after the journey. I'm really travel sick on buses ( in fact in any vehicle as a passenger) so would be a nightmare journey if I ever had to use it.
