Saucer Barrows are quite unusual.

We have one. It is just over there.

I wonder why?

We will never know.

That is so cool.

Lidar map of Cannock Chase. Bit complicated, click on the three horizontal lines top left to get the legend and click on outlined features for a description of what the features are. Hours of historical fun!

I'd agree with you it's a bit complicated, requires a bit of work. But endlessly fascinating. I've always admired archaeologists, they are the original CSI bods. Only their crime scenes are tens, hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of years or more ago (where anthropology and archaeology start to overlap a bit.) :embarrass:

The two overlap, forensic archaeologists use archaeological techniques to recover information when modern bodies or other things have been buried. Plods diving in with spades can miss an awful lot.
