Car boot sales in Stafford.

I am told that the Common boot sale is continuing on the Rangers car park instead of entering a period of hibernation, as in recent years.

Yes it was on last Sunday, but not many stalls there, about 10, and only about 4 were real booters.
I didn't even get my money out for an airing.=(

Anything is better than nothing. I miss my Sunday observance. There is/was an ad in the Newsletter, but nobody brought it to my attention.

One is a lot more than none. I'm almost hyper-ventilating at the possibility of what might be made available to me on Sunday morning.

Are people fed up of buying other people's second hand stuff in favour of buying new....

We called Stafford Furniture Exchnage in the week to get rid of some furniture on them, they said they couldn't accept it because their warehouse is full....

Possibly... we tried to give the Katherine House one a perfectly decent dining table and chairs only to be told they've got plenty of those at the moment! :?:

You could always offer it on Freecycle (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stafford-freecycle/)

How big are we talking here? Could do with one, just not sure on the space.

I had a quick look this morning, but there was nothing too exciting. Just a job lot of mince pies. Buy early for Christmas?

I can see there being trouble over the parking. There was blatant abandonmentness of cars, they'll get the book out. It's why it had to leave the Reynolds garage in the early days.

I had an e-mail a while back that some charity had over ordered mince pies by about 10,000 units or something stupid...

Apparently they were giving them away free to people as long as they didn't sell them on....

Not saying this is related or anything.....?!?

Perhaps we should not merely complain about the quietness of the sale of the boots...... And we should fix the problem by populating it with ourselves!

The staffordforumites can gather by a convenient food van and make it super-busy! We could even sell our own boots!

Maaaan I hope Dougs Doughnuts is there.....

Very poor this morning - just one bloke packing up when I got there. There was quite a cool breeze, though, and that might put off some of the more lightweight elements.

The Car Boot used to run from King Edwards High School during the winter, indoor and outdoor, for many years.

I've always been a bit disappointed with Stafford Car Boot. Gone a few times, and never opened my wallet as there didn't seem to be much there. My usual trip is to Cannock Car Boot, which is much bigger.

It hasn't overwintered at King Ed's for two or three years now. Boot sales in general aren't what they were up to a few years ago, but there's always the possibility of a gem out there. If I thought that people might be interested then I would start a "What's your best boot sale purchase?" thread. I might do it anyway.
