An old thread but what are members thoughts now on some on the places that have been mentioned ?

I usually go to the island but they haven’t been doing as good as job as they used to. Visited the one on the Stone Road last week and they were very good and pretty thorough. I’ve also tried Silkmore Lane and they did a good job as well.

Do you know if the latter two accept contactless?

Not a clue about contactless. I’ve always paid cash and never give using a card a thought.

Visited the Stone road wash this morning for the first time & others have said quite a good job with three of them giving it the treatment.

If in town I'll use the Roundabout one but I do tend to use the Silkmore Lane one especially during the week when it's not so busy. Anyone ever seen them change the water in the barrels of soapy water?.
The petrol garage in Penkridge off the A449 has a jet wash that takes cards which is more of a practical quick and go option.

Resurrection time!

Is the stone road one still OK? And do I need cash?
It's still there, I used to the tyre place right behind a few weeks ago, but no idea on payment.

*Oh & you might have to get to it from First avenue/Gordon Ave, as it was blocked off from the stone Rd by the roadworks when I went.

Went there with my wife's car, they did a great job on a mini valet for £20. Don't get me wrong, there are a few bits of dirt still on it, but it's not been washed in over 2 years and had moss on ffs! Took them over half an hour with 2 people, well worth the money to not do it yourself 🤣

I'll take mine there next week i think, no idea on card payment as I picked up cash while I was waiting as had to do a few other errands.

Do they do the inside too for that? I hate cleaning the car.

Yup, the inside looks great! Seriously, very impressed for 20 quid. The dirt I mentioned earlier thats still there was from actual stuff growing on it, there's no way on earth I could have expected that off for £20, and they did a better job in half an hour or so than I'd have done in 2 or 3 hours so well worth it.

I won't say the last time mine was valeted/ washed but it's come up on my FB memories today.. Was quite a while ago. I appears to have half a loaf of breadcrumbs on the dashboard and floor, due to eating toast on the way to work all the time.

Did the inside of mine yesterday, these little beauties

are great for the little nooks and crannies the normal hoover attachments can't get to.
Came with a 2ft flexible reduction hose.
