That last one looks like a boat masquerading as a car
Amphicars had a brief popularity.

Are these cars being smuggled out of Ireland before we don't leave?

Or is it vice versa?

It's unforgiveable really that we are putting not only ourselves but our things under such stress.

Especially seeing as it is all so unnecessary.

There was a lovely old Scirocco in the petrol station just now - a white G-reg one.

He said there is another one about in the town, but I haven't seen one on the road for years.

It wasn't until we were going* that I thought that the car was quite likely to be older than the driver...

* It did sound quite nice...

@BobClay mentioned the Austin Westminster elsewhere.

The ultimate evolution of that was the Vanden Plas Princess R - a Rolls Royce-engined machine with real, practical luxury and without ostentatious gaudiness.

A friend had one, until the world economic situation in the mid/late 1970s made running it a little traumatic.

We watched the first episode of "Bent Coppers" last night which was about the police in the 60's and early 70's.
Husband was really interested but I realised that he was actually really enjoying the footage of all the old cars rather than the actual documentary itself.

@staffordjas, I think you bought a jump starter to keep in your car in case of emergencies last year. Just a reminder, with winter approaching, that they need charging up every six months, even if you've not used it, in order to maintain maximum performance.
Aaaah thanks @proactive  I never thought of that. I was only thinking the other week , when I emptied the car for it's MOT , that we hadn't had to use it yet .
Will get it out of the boot tomorrow and re-charge !

Hahaaaa! Emptied my car for its MOT this week, its amazing the amount of junk I keep in there - 3 massive bag fulls!

The carer is still asking why I keep duct tape and rubber tubing in there.... 😳

We'll keep it as our little secret.
Just incase people think I'm tying @Trumpet up with a gimp mask, duct tape and rubber tubing....... The duct tape is in there because the carer keeps stealing it, it cost a fortune AND ITS MINE,, the rubber tuning is in there're as my 70+yr old dad gave it to me saying 'keep it in your car, it maybe useful sometime'.....

It might be, but I'm waiting for the moment..... Watch out @Trumpet
