Just been past the old Wimpy and see that the grand opening of Casa is tomorrow... They are still frantically working on it now!!!

Is anyone going?

I was wondering if its open invite or private opening?

If its open, I might be persuaded to pop down and see how Staffords new (hopefully) chav free bar looks.

Its run by the old manager of Zanzibar (Jack) isn't it? Heard its over 25s so may well be tempted to go down, make a nice change to go somewhere yoof free.

Like you say gk, I walked past today and it is still busily being worked on and looks a bit of a mess. If it's finished properly by tomorrow evening it'll be a miracle by the looks. There were still various loose wires dangling out of various places when I walked passed

Was no different with the Zanzibar refit, hardly anything got done til the last week, then somehow it all came together. As with casa, there were still bare wires around etc. the night before opening, and I could still smell the paint when it did open.

I got ID'd the week after my 30th, so don't worry!

As it was, I know a 17 year old who was in there. They aint strict! Maybe just cos it was the opening night, who knows, but there were a few younger ones in. Also a few damn hot women I've not seen around the ford before, if you were blonde with glasses and went to spoons after reply here! ;)

Wasn't really paying attention TBH! Was older stuff though, not sure I heard anything from this year. Like I say, wasn't really listening though.

I happened to stumble (and a stumble it very much was) in there last night and they wouldn't let my friend in because he was wearing jeans. A little bit too nice for the likes of me!

Eh, I was in jeans and trainers?!?!?! So was my mate actually, OK they didn't seem too impressed but they let us in anyway.

Probably more the fact that he "stumbled in wearing jeans" than the fact he was wearing jeans.... last thing they need is some hammered person starting a fight or being sick on the dance floor on opening night.... :D

So is it expensive in there, I imagine it is...

Cost £5.90 for a carling and a strongbow, so not that bad really. Yes its one of the more expensive places in town, but strongbow at the swan or the bird is £2.80 a pint so not a massive difference.

Yeh it was busy! but full of office party people so for once I didn't feel like the oldest girl in town!

I went into Casa to see what it was like, I really hope its not finished properly yet! It doesn't look too bad but the sound system is rough and I think the DJ thought he was auditioning for local radio! Otherwise I'll reserve my final judgment until the party season is over and it's found its feet, looks promising but I think I was a bit unrealistic and hoping for something a bit more chilled.

I'm 21 and 276 months, I'll have to remember that when asked my age again.
