Jagger is enjoying Easter, his cat Easter egg not so much! (basically chewed a bit & then gobbed it out on the kitchen floor!). I am sure the leftover topside of beef he will be having for his supper will be more to his palate....

Currently, fat Pheobe (10) is on my lap, Sophie (16) on her heat mat....yes I know it's may but she's old & loves the heat mat.....baby harry (1.6 years is upstairs screaming) no idea why he is screaming... He's learnt it from Phoebe, she screams at everything... There's a person outside, a fox, a hedgehog, a cat, another cat, a car....anything that appears in our boundary is a threat & she DESPERATELY needs to warn us of the impending danger... He's now (harry) in the kitchen, probably shouting at fox's, I've not put their tea out, and tea time for fox's is 10pm....

As mentioned earlier, I have had to get temporary staff in for 'my' cat during my current absence.

I gave a short course of instruction, and the cat has firmed up on the requirements, but it does seem that things are working smoothly and (largely) to her satisfaction.

The operative is led to the Shed, to access the food in there for an al fresco breakfast.

I notice the training apparatus on the floor there.

'My' cat is utterly uninterested in artificial play items, with an odd single, or dual but related, exception.

Any attempt to pull a hose or extension lead across the floor is instantly intercepted, as though by a mongoose on amphetamines. Cables or hoses that are just lying there are fully exempt, but absolutely any snakiness will cause instant retribution.

This seems very odd, as I can be quite confident that she has not ever seen a snake and never will.

These attacks are such that I am concerned about punctures, for both fluid and electrical leakages...

So adorable :love::love:

Reminds me of my nans old cat when she lived in a cottage with an up & over swivel window. Cat would launch itself at the top pane and be catapulted into the kitchen to get itself in.
They are typical cats, climbing in the kitchen window........ when the backdoor was open the whole time. They live by one set of rules (theirs!).

The window thing...

My house has quite similar windows to the cat's main base. She has different tactics at each place. She will sit on the outside windowsills there, to intimidate and supervise the staff inside, but she never does that to me.

She will sit on my indoor windowsills, to obverse the activity over there, both from inside the house and the shed, and also to watch over trespassers considering coming in through the front gate.

Having returned to 'my' cat's jurisdiction a few days ago, I was aware of a bit of a scuffle the first night, to repel an intruder somewhat larger than herself. This was largely successful by the time I arrived back from the pub and after a period of consolidation of the defences, she was happy to spend the night in the house.

The next day, I heard from neighbours that the event had been quite substantial, but her victory seems to have put off the intruder since then.

However, she has been careful to maintain her warpaint, as a symbol of her superiority.

She is also trying to make me feel guilty about underfeeding her.
