So Proud!

My little Romanian waif who was hours away from death passed her puppy class (despite barking at the assessor during the "is your puppy friendly to strangers test" 😂)

Had to wait until she was nearly asleep to take this as not shredding your certificate wasn't part of the lessons on her course!

I just found this on the Facebook rescue page, I haven’t seen them before because we took her 3 months later when her home offer was withdrawn as she was about to be dropped off 😬 she looked very different then! And again 9 months later.

If anyone here is open to offering a young (or older) rescue dog a home I can throughly recommend the Romanian rescue we used.

It's surprising how many things dogs have to learn when they live with us. Today our little newbie learnt about stiles and the many different techniques to get to the other side of them, over, under, through, and even carried! She also learnt about boggy knee deep mud!

Does anyone have any recommendations for puzzles and mental stimulation toys our pup could do? I get the feeling she is bored on these dark evenings when our old boy is asleep. The Kong treat ball is ok but lasts about 5 mins before she's finished it and starts chewing the actual ball!

Thanks

Yesterday the cat decided to bring a live mouse into the kitchen!

It promptly ran under the oven never to be seen again!

Luckily it was rather dim and made a brief re-appearance and was quick captured again by said cat!

Managed to grab the cat and pop him (with mouse in mouth) out the kitchen window!

Only for the cat to run round the house and through the cat flap (still with mouse!) and right back into the kitchen!

Mouse was running around the kitchen floor so I did the ol' spider cup job and released it into the hedge.

Meanwhile husband is shrieking like a girl!

Drama!

I would have moved out then bombed the house! You're very brave!

Our little rescue has fitted in well and a routine is definitely getting there. Shes far less nervous, good off lead, great in the house and generally an all round lovely. And then tonight happened. Tried to watch the football in the front room so left her in the back room, separated only by doors, it's basically an empty room with dog beds and a dining table and chairs. Oh and an enormous box of toys. Initially she played with her toys, I could hear the last survivors getting shredded, then she learnt how to get on the dining room table where my work laptop, ipad and headsets all were for safe keeping!! then she annoyed old dog who was sleeping and got a telling off. Not much footie was watched what with all the tooing and froing I was doing sorting her out and then as I started to clear up the shredded toys I found a newly dead rat the cat had just brought in. Quite possibly the worst evening at home ever!

We had a ' toy' furry dog which mother- in- law gave us after winning it. Our rescue dog never rised to our joking fussing it , and seemed totally not bothered by her ' new friend'... came back from work one day months after to find it had been removed from its place in the hall and been showed who's the boss! She looked so triumphant when it had to be slung in the bin. The intruder was no more..( Only time she ever vandalised anything in 16+ years with us.)
