rescued this pair of idiots, our second and third such types. Milo (hat) had been seized by a vet when brought in with a broken leg at 2mths old. Missy had been given up by a household that could no longer keep her. Not done too badly for a pair of unfashionable little gits

Almost forgot our first rescue. This sweet old girl spent over a year in kennels waiting for a new home after a family breakdown left her homeless. Such a friendly old soul she was
I have friends who rescued 2 Staffies, 1 sadly suffers from siezures, he int a fan of his medication, but his human Mum gives it to him everyday, it helps 9 times out of 10. She gets a warning just before he fits, his 'brother' stands guard over him and has his way of lettin g them know.
The 2 pups replaced their old Staffie, he was the softest bag of loveliness ever. Terrific with the kids, yet a guard dog when the Postman came near.

Haha Staffs have that mentality which always strikes me as bizarre. The girl dotes on our granddaughter but the pair will throw themselves up the front door when our postie comes. Even though they know who she is...

Cat obviously thinks his new party trick is hilarious and so gave us another prize live mouse at 4am..... in our bedroom!

Scooped it up in a t-shirt and out the front door!

Heard the husband giving the cat a telling off this morning!
Your cat just thinks you’re hungry and is trying to feed you

Or they think your hunting skills aren’t up to snuff and you need practice

Yes I'd heard this!!

He's never done it before but we're putting less food down as Merlin our cute (but useless) self opted house cat is getting really fat!

Basically it's cold outside so he'll only go out to poop then right back by the fire!

I think having less food down has changed Rune's (mad hunting cat) behaviour!

Just had quite a disconcerting experience on the Common. Walking my lil rescue pupsters from the Common Road through past the house with horses I notice a man and his dog up the hill to the right. I headed straight ahead in the direction of the Stone Road. Get half way across by the metal fence and find this merle French Bulldog in hot pursuit. It was the dog up the hill as I'd entered the common.

Anyways, this dog chased and chased my dog who was less than impressed. If she stood still so did he. If she ran, he tried to round her up. This went on for about 10 mins. The owner made zero effort to come claim his dog, no shouting, didn't come over. He literally walked off the common. I was a bit astonished.

Anyways, I caught this dog and leashed it using my lead and dragged it back over to the Common Road to its owner. The conversation went like this:

Is this your dog?
Yeah i was hoping you would take him and I'm fed up with him. Cost me 3 grand as a puppy but no one will buy him for even 500. I dont want him. He's too badly behaved, I'm fed up with him

Now this is a beautiful looking merle entire male Frenchie. I don't like them but jeesus, he didn't deserve this clearly exasperated owner. Had I had my phone on me I'd have got the blokes details. Alas I didn't. I did explain that there are breed rescues he could contact or Pet Welfare in Stafford but he was convinced rescue was worse than selling to gawd knows who.

Anyway, if anyone knows an East Asian man, maybe Chinese or Vietnamese, with a young male merle Frenchie pass on my details and I'll help him find the dog a home where he is wanted and loved :(

I dont know why these people take dogs on, the local idiot has got through 4 in the last 6 years, the latest seems to be called 'lucky', it'll be lucky if it lives to 2yrs old!

When our Monty (golden retreiver) went, we decided it wasn't fair to have another dog while we were both working, and have acquired random cats since then. We would deadly love another dog, and missed one most on holiday when we walk a lot, but our time will come and we have 5 'grand-doggos' to pamper in the meantime.

Hope you get hold of him and the doggo soon.

Cats have a lot of interesting quirks, incidentally:

They only meow at humans, and there’s a theory that they see us as dysfunctional cats, hence the bringing you prey.
Our Pheobe cat does not shut up, she's so vocal & loud, she screams at you for biscuits, to open doors, to close doors, for more biscuits, if your in the bath, or on the loo, if you've closed a door, if she sees something out of the window, if the postman comes, when she wants to play, for treats, for more biscuits.....the list is endless, she will only drink from a tap, and won't go outside.

Charlie cat crows like a crow for food and to play hiz games on the ipad (yes, you read that right), and Sophie cat squeaks!

I almost have a cat, but it's not really a rescue situation, although she probably thinks she's rescuing me.

Theoretically, she lives nextdoor, but they're out a lot and there's more interest on my side of the hedge, I think.

It's taken a year for us to get on speaking terms, but I was allowed to stroke her just now.

When she knows that I'm safely in the Shed, she will pop in and check the house for me, which is useful, as there can be the odd mouse lodger.

Currently, she is protecting some cabbage plants (that I'm growing for the pub landlord) from the ravages of predatory butterflies.

I can't fathom it either. On Fb this week someone was advertising a baby rabbit they had bred that needed a home by the end of the week. If no home magically appeared they were taking it to the rescue centre. I mean seriously you chose to let your rabbits breed and now expect the rescue centre, which is already swamped with unwanted rabbits, to clear up your mess. People need a massive dose of 'take f*ckin responsibility!'

If I find the man and his dog ill bring it round @littleme as I can't have another male. My man dog won't put up with that!!
