It’s also in anticipation of the fact that DIY waste will be free of charge later this year. So no charging for rubble/tiles/plaster as there is now. Presumably a DIYer won’t need more than a couple of van trips a year.

We’ve just had work done on the house and I’ve done the tiling. I’ve got the old tiles and scrap from the work down the side of the house until it becomes free of charge to drop off!

Do you know what the date for it being free of charge is?

When I was there on Sunday they were telling someone that if they'd waited a couple of weeks it would have been free, I assume it's at the point the permits come in.

No cost for now.

But soon it’ll be £36 per year after everyone has got used to having it for no extra charge on your Council Tax.

Never minded a few small charges. However what did annoy me is how when I dropped off natural stone from a front wall I removed they classed it as rubble, bricks to charge for it. It's easy reusable for something.

Does anyone know if you can take rubble from the rubble bin at the tip? I need a bit of hardcore (steady at the back!) for a pathway I am building so just wondered.

Its recycling afterall? And yes, I could ask them when I am next down there but wondered if anyone knew before I make a fool of myself by asking.

If you can't try freegle (used to be freecycle) or Facebook marketplace (that's how we got rid of lots of gravel / hard-core over the summer)
