Comedy at The MET Special

I always feel guilty for not finding people funny when they crash and burn, but she was definitely the worst. She's been on the circuit a while from what I understand, although not my cup of tea. Some of her material was good, although I feel that if she upped the tempo a bit it would help her no end. I see a lot of comedy, and one thing I always note is that the comedians who don't leave massive gaps between punchlines and setups are the best.

I'm sure she'll come good, but its delivery for sure which lets it down. Easy to say from the comfort of the third row, but I think she needs to relax a little on stage.

I agree.

You pay your money so you WANT them to be funny and its uncomfortable when they are not.

I was there, Kevin Bridges was good, yeah.

Bytheway, I don't look like my avatar pic, I'd never wear a red tie with a yellow shirt!

So, is Shoes - Sam, or was it Ben?

Ben!

About 6 seats to your left Shoes!

Ah were you on the aisle seat of that row?

Turtle neck guy, now that was funny!

Haha yeah, all three comedians! I bet that's in the bin now!.

Jules (the train driver/killer/edinburgh wollen mill bloke) came again the next night wearing a decidedly less bullet proof jumper! His wife was also much less inebriated!

Room (non-virtual) full of forumites, now that would be comedic!

I imagine Proactive to be a fan of the turtleneck.

I rarely use the word 'turtleneck', after I witnessed a fitter being badgered by a manager to do a job instantly, when he was in dire need of a 'comfort break'.

Can you build that now?

I'll do it in a minute, I've just got to go to the toilet.

Come on, that can wait, just build it now and go after.

I've got to go now!

It'll only take a few minutes..

No! I'm going now - I'm already turtlenecking.....

Never understood what your beef is with proactive...
The 'beef' happened in real time - or more likely unreal time, or possibly surreal time, some sort of time anyway - i almost remember it. I feel quite confident that i can find when & where it surfaced.

Not that it matters - but does anything?

Yes - not this though.

Well, spotted and i'll think you'll find I got the slap in the face first!

Another thread also shows his love for the (and uncalled for) post/thread kickin'.

Hey, lets get back to the comedy, so Proactive in a turtleneck...
Sorry, sorry sorry.

Comedy night at the Met, great!

I think the guy just has issues in general.
I can imagine you're a barrel of laughs to go out for a drink with, perhaps go to a comedy club, bit of banter all night long!?

It's just jokes, don't take it to heart Proac.

Mark Watson and I'm going. Although that's not the regular 'Comedy at the Met' show.

As for the next one of those, it is on 21/02/15 and no one knows who's showing yet. Normally you never find out as they don't update the website. You pay your money, you take your chance - it's rare for it not to be sold out a few weeks in advance, so you buy blind.

We've been going for about 18 months now and only missed a couple. Most are great nights out, although some acts have been 3 or 4 times without new material which is irritating. We saw Romesh Ranganathan not long back and he was great.

Anyway, we'll be there on the 21st.
