Community Service ...

We have been having a team of people obviously doing their community service - they have been tasked with repainting some railings at the side of the road.

I was watching them working the other day and two out of the group of people were just messing about - and the person watching over them wasnt really doing a lot.

The paint is everywhere - really rubbish job - the railings were not sanded down just the paint slapped on over the old paint, and on the floor.

Surely if they are tasked to do a job they should be doing it properly and under the correct supervision.

or is it me being picky !

Sounds like it was the same lot who did the Odysseus Greek restaurant, formerly known as the Castle Tavern. There is almost as much paint on the pavement as the walls!

Don't know how I missed this one.

Perhaps an extra clause in their community service to the tune of:


You will serve 'x'hours of community service. You will then continue to do community service once this period is up if the work completed is not to a satisfactory standard. You shall continue to work until the required standard has been reached.



And then only employ people with chronic OCD to assess the work, a pedant, you know, a real bastard!

Basically, community service seems to be a doss.
