The knobheadwankstainwasteofbreath that my younger sister used live with says he isn't having the vaccine. He reckons that it's just a ruse for the goverment to inject you with a microchip. Man is seriously tapped, and what's really frightening, he was allowed to breed many years ago!
Did he post that on Facebook from his $50 Huawei phone?
No. He's only just joined FB, after years of telling me it's just so people can have a good gossip and tittletattle. The only reason he's joined, is so he can see what my sister posts and who's on her friends list. He 's got no chance, she got me to put all her settings to private, only friends can see what she does.

On the Nextdoor site someone was saying that she had managed to book her 2nd jab through the NHS site , despite having had the first one booked through her GP. Others tried and failed, and like me got the message that as the first one was booked by GP, the second one had to be booked through GP as well.
The one's who've managed to book the 2nd one in succesfully , when first one's were booked at showground through GP , were the ones who had the Oxford Astra Zeneca , as the NHS site appointments were being made at Kingston Centre. Kingston only do AZ , so saying need to wait for GP to contact to book for showground if having had Pfizer to make sure you get the same one.

Husband who is 63 with health conditions had his done at showground through GP 3 weeks ago. He still hasn't received a letter at all from the NHS , so it's either gone astray (our post man can't seem to read numbers or street names!) or he's slipped through the NHS booking system. Wondering how many others haven't received the NHS invite through the post when they should have , and still sitting there assuming it's not their turn yet ...

I have heard this about booking the 2nd AZ vaccine on another forum also

If you can book it do, if not wait for the GP. We're going back to 12 hour days at The Kingston Centre from next week so it's ramped up.

I doubt he's slipped through the system, because there was a time gap between the GP appointment and the NHS letter going out they probably had time to refresh the data. If it's within a few days they won't have. Not everything is negative...

I've just asked at my GPs whilst calling them about a different appointment and the receptionist said they hadn't been informed about when second vaccinations are planned for yet and to wait until they know.

This all seems a bit peculiar as when I booked mine online I was given dates for both jabs. First one a month ago today and second one in beginning of May. I'm wondering if they'll remind me as I don't want to drive 20 miles to find I'm not booked. !

I had a text from somebody this morning, informing me that I am now eligible to book. I did, with some difficulty, manage to alert my surgery to my absence a month ago, and have let them know that it is ongoing.

If it’s anything like my gp you can’t book ANY appointment more than 4 weeks in advance (often less than that, depending on the timing) because “the diary isn’t open for then yet”
I cancelled my gp vaccine appointment (at Cannock!) & booked both jab dates online in the Kingston Centre. Second jab is 7th(?) May, I can’t wait. It seems like the gp appointments are at the showground or the Roman way whereas online bookings have a wider choice of locations.

Is it the same amount of dose for the 2nd one as the first one ? I've managed to get in to the NHS site with hubbys NHS number (He Had Astra Zeneca for first one) and it's giving from 3rd May at Kingston Centre which is 11 weeks from his first one. But didn't go any further as wasn't sure whether it knew that was for the 2nd dose ....If that makes sense???

It will tell you, as it will offer you a second appointment if it puts it as the first. The 3rd May suggests to me that it is the second dose though. Don't book it as a first dose, as it says on the system we use there whether it's your first or second dose.

Thanks @Lucy . When I went back into it , it went straight to the 2nd Dose booking page saying that I hadn't booked it last time I logged on. Got him booked in for the 3rd May , the first available date to book it which is exactly 11 weeks after first one. A bonus is that it's a bank holiday as well ,so he doesn't even have to get cover at work .

Pity I can't book my Pfizer the same way .

Just seen a post on the Nextdoor website , from someone who (from their profile page) looks to work at our doctors surgery.
'Second dose vaccination. I would like to reassure anyone who has had their first covid vaccination at the County Showground that their GP practice will contact them to have their second dose before the 12 week deadline (around week 10-11) You won’t be forgotten '

I'd still feel better having it all booked in already though !

(I can see what's going to happen now......my appointment at the showground is bound to come through for the same time as hubbys at the Kingston Centre. We've only got the one car . )

I'm worried about my second dose after my bad reaction to the first.

Any advise, nurse at the Dr's wasn't exactly helpfull, not her fault though I suppose, not so much info available to her.

Not many people have had their second yet. I would imagine your immune system will be more used to it though.
I know, but I've heard the second dose reaction is much worse. I will still definatly have it, but, I want to be prepared, last times feeling of being hit by a bus for 4 days was horrific, lots of people I work with also have the same symptoms, but not quite as bad.

The second dose reaction can be worse, according to the internet - all the people I know who've had two doses have had no reaction (to speak of) from either, which isn't much help. They will all have been fairly well isolated people - and you will have had quite considerable exposure, so that's possibly a differentiating factor.

Grit your teeth and be ready for it...

It might not happen.
