Off to see 'Enter Shikari' tonight in Nottingham (very excited!) but it will be the first time I've worn a mask to a gig in relatively warm weather so will be interesting to see how that goes. It's my first time seeing them and I love them so will almost certainly end up on the barrier for this one...

Having to miss a few gigs due to being away for a while, including Green Day at London Arena which would be by far the busiest place I've been since the rona came knocking.

Busiest place I've been was the M&S Bank Arena for Partridge last week, that was a bit intimidating tbf though I usually favour smaller venues anyway. I was lucky enough to see Nine Inch Nails in a venue that held around 800 several years before the pandemic and that was immense.

(And that didn't cost the £75 per ticket they're charging for next months gigs either!)

Only seen NIN twice, first was at Brixton Academy and I was at the front, second was headlining the tent at Rock Werchter where I was a bit further back! I think the tickets for RW were only £150 for 4 days of really good music.

Maybe we should pay more attention to psychological warfare techniques when fighting novel infections?

Covid sounds 'OK', almost like the name of a beneficial drug or a new DVD format...

Now, Monkeypox is much more clearly defined as something that you really don't want.
Do you think the vaccine uptake, and mask wearing/social distancing, would have been better if the COVID-19 virus had been named DISFIGUREMENT-19 or DEATH-19?

Funnily enough I read a passage about how the chimpanzee adenovirus vaccine vector (aka ChAdOx1) is used in the AZ vaccine in the book I'm currently reading just this very morning so I'm well equipped to explain this to you.

ChAdOx1 is created from a virus that causes similar to the common cold in chimpanzees. It has been previously used in vaccines for influenza and MERS and is shown to be well tolerated with no safety concerns as the original virus cannot replicate inside the human body. The inert virus is used in the vaccine to deliver the genetic code for the coronavirus spike protein in a safer manner than direct infection.

The reason a virus from another (albeit 98.8% identical) species was used is because the vaccine doesn't work so well if people already have antibodies for the 'host' virus and this one doesn't spread amongst humans, so nobody has any pre-existing antibodies for it.

The book, again, is "Vaxxers" by the people behind the AstraZeneca virus and it very clearly explains how the vaccine was created, why it works and comprehensively lists every ingredient.

A highly recommended read and its only a quid on Kindle right now: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Vaxxers-Inside-AstraZeneca-Vaccine-Against-ebook/dp/B08V195VFB

Thanks for giving me the chance to plug it again, GG.
Totally unbiased, I'm sure.
When the new treaty comes in and we have our first restrictions imposed by powers that aren't in charge of our country, don't expect full on compliance, like some of you enjoy!

But we took our country back, that can't happen now! But regardless of that, why wait til the new powers are in place? That seems rather odd, what are you doing now to stop them? Other than posting pictures on the internet and desperately avoiding any form of debate those pictures may bring, obviously.

So let me get this straight...

You complain that we don't know what is in the vaccine.
The people who made the vaccine tell you what is in the vaccine.
You don't trust the people who made the vaccine to tell you what is in the vaccine because they're the people who made the vaccine.

All of this despite the fact that what they say is in the vaccine is exactly what you "uncovered" as being in the vaccine.

You must know how absolutely batshit crazy that sounds, right? Like just completely bonkers looney head-in-the-clouds, DIY-lobotomy stupid?
