So, challenged myself to obtain some kind of covid 19 nhs passport. Well in spite of umpteen log-ins and eight, yes 8 new password entries I finally reached a page where I considered I was sorted. Upon entering personal details I was met with. "No Covid Details Found" So after being double jabbed and being positive on PCR test I felt compelled to email our fearless leader once again, this time the question was; ' Is this anyway to run a f@#king country ' ?......

Finally the last day of isolation, so tomorrow I can freely prowl Stafford's licenced premises. Strong ale is undoubtedly my main target however what's a good pint without a good pie ideally cheese and onion although cheese and potato is acceptable. Anyone know an establishment that can satiate my desires?.......

Greengate offy for your Tennents Super, then up to Gregg's for your cheesy stuff before spending a pleasant afternoon abusing the yokels in Patchwork Square.

There you go, sorted :)

Nearest August pie to Highfields is

https://www.brunningandprice.co.uk/oakley/#top

Alternatively

The Victoria pub in Walsall next Saturday

Isn't it FA Cup weekend?

Not sure if you can get from Stafford to Walsall or Rushall without going via Inverness Station

Am off to the cinema tonight for the first time in 18 months! I wasn't planning on going back this year but I've noticed the Odeon are still imposing some measures (nothing like pre-July of course) and, combined with being able to see how busy a showing is likely to be online beforehand, I figured it was time to put my Limitless membership to use again since I didn't cancel it. Going to see Candyman and I caaaaaannot wait!

I couldn't see anywhere to "check in" with the app when I arrived, anyone know where the QR code is? Or do they just go on you having a ticket via the app?

Must say, I like the changes they've made to the process with everything going through the new app.

The JCVI analysis of benefit vs risk of vaccines in children doesn't even pass the most basic scrutiny.

Bizarrely, despite their massive errors in analysis, *hugely* underestimating risks to children even they find that benefits outweigh risks but decide not to vaccinate them.

We need to keep covid going to cover for brexit, can't have it fizzle out before the new rules kick in next year.

Had a letter telling me that due to our vulnerable status my 2 12-15 year olds can be vaccinated. Bit of a relief for us. With Covid rife in the area I was dreading next week when the 18 year old (not quite due her 2nd jab yet) goes back to college and the almost 15 year old returned to school with everything 'almost back to normal' in those settings. Just got to see when I can get them booked in for.

My 16 yr old had hers just after her 16th birthday, they said cos of her age she's only allowed 1, not the 2 we all had, and that they would contact us if anything changed.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Shoulda woulda coulda. The Welsh tried this last year and it failed miserably.

This is just a bit of kite flying to start gauging the public mood if and when things start to get worse. Either that or yet more people getting their 15 mins of fame.

I'm reading "Failures of State" at the minute, a review of the government's handling of the pandemic last year and I just today read a bit about how SAGE were strongly recommending exactly this last September when infection rates and deaths were less than they are now but Boris was talked out of it. So, given this comes from SAGE, I can believe they're recommending it again.

There almost certainly is an aspect of gauging public opinion, mind. They leaked certain details about proposed lockdowns last year in an attempt to put pressure on Boris who at that point was blatantly ignoring them.

Whatever, we can rely on Boris taking the right decision but way too bloody late and riddled with inconsistency as always.
