The stats suggest not, I think the first boosted person is 8 months in and the antibodies are still sky high.

Well finally the results are in for us all. Even though I'm feeling like shit and have the same symptoms as everyone else, my test which finally came back this morning is negative  and the disbelieving lateral flow I've just taken to see is also negative. So begs the question, what the devil do I actually have and how the feck did I manage to avoid it in a house full of Covid?? I think I'll carry on self isolating to be on the safe side till everyone else's time is up.

Got my RT-PCR test today. Planned it all out but came unstuck straight away assembling the strange little cardboard box it has to go back in. Like a f****** Rubik Cube only a Googolplex times more difficult. Anyway... when I figured that out I laid all the bits and pieces out and using a shaving mirror, a spoon and a portable desk lamp I went for it.
Tonsil swab seemed ok, went in deep ... (there might be a bit of my pelvis on it .. :heyhey:) but found the nose job not very comfortable, especially when I pulled it out as there was some brain matter on it ... and I've forgotten everything that happened a week last Thursday which must be where that memory was stored. (Still, Thursdays ? I ask you .... shouldn't be a problem. 💩)

Sent it all back.

Forgot about that part of my kit. I was wishing I had a young kid who'd probably have got it assembled in seconds

So glad I’m not the only one who struggled with the box 🤣

Has the UK stopped using the Vaxzevria vaccine now?

All I can see available is either the Comirnaty or Spikevax and soon to be Nuvaxovid

The most worrying thing about this new covid variant by far is how quickly our government has acted upon it. You mean to tell me that they've banned flights from South Africa NOW rather than in two months time when it's already too late to stop it spreading here...?

Shit, this one *must* be bad!

Got my test result back saying I am COVID-19 negative. So I'm an Electron. However it says the results are not 100% conclusive, so there might be a bit of Proton in there somewhere ... 😶

So I remain +ve, .. errr .. I mean -ve ... errr .... (confusing isn't it ? 😜)

Don't split your atoms. It can end very badly.

I shall try to remain neutron about the whole business. ... errrr I mean neutral.

(A free neutron has about 15 minutes before it decays into a +ve proton, a -ve electron and a bit of neutrino rubbish. Talk about extra confusing... no more bloody swab tests for me. :P Next time, take blood out of my arm ... hell !! ... everybody else is.) 🤯

All it really says is how, even now, the entire Continent of African Nations is so devoid of economic, diplomatic, and political power, that it can be excluded from international relations immediately and fully, without any discussion as to any consequence, at the drop of a hat.

And we never wonder why that might be.

And if more than one sixth of the population of Africa had been vaccinated the whole world might be doing a bit better.

From the Gordon Brown Comment article in the Guardian today:
"In June, Boris Johnson promised he and the G7 countries would use their surplus vaccines to immunise the whole world. In September, at a summit chaired by President Biden, a December target of 40% vaccination was set for the 92 poorest countries. Two and a half months on, there is little chance of this target being met in at least 82 of them. By Thursday the US, which to its credit has been responsible for half the vaccines donated, had still delivered only 25% of the vaccines that it promised.

The arithmetic of failure in the rest of the world is even more embarrassing. According to Airfinity, the European Union has delivered only 19%, the UK just 11% and Canada just 5%.

China and New Zealand have delivered over half of what was promised, but their pledges amounted to just 100m and 1.6m respectively. Australia has given just 18% of what it offered and Switzerland just 12%.

The result is that even now only 3% of people in low-income countries are fully vaccinated, while the figure exceeds 60% in both high-income countries and upper-middle-income countries."
