Enjoying a drop of red.
I've kept wearing my mask all along . Went into Marks twice last week, Friday and Saturday and I seemed to be the only person wearing one. The odd few others I saw wearing them in the bank didn't have their noses covered. Called in Aldi on the way back and I was one of the odd ones out in there as well.

Just hoping the local Co-op starts taking it a bit more seriously and providing sanitiser more regularly. More times than not these past few months there has been no hand sanitiser or basket/trolley disinfectant available at all. Not much mask wearing , or wearing them properly either in there as well as social distancing seeming to have gone out of the window. No wonder the rates around here have started to rocket again!

Had an email from Tesco today saying that they will be sticking to the rules and masks compulsory , as well as continuing to have sanitising stations , traffic light system and seperate in/out doors.
Was in the Co-op this afternoon. Have to say everyone, staff and customers were fully masked up. The only two exceptions were a little girl and an elderly woman who clearly hasn't understood the concept that a mask has to cover both mouth AND nose in order for there to be any point. Still it's only been nearly two years, bless...

Everyone also seemed to be taking great care to social distance.

This is my first visit to the Co-op in several years and on the strength of this I will go back. I only went in the first place because Aldi at the bottom of Radford Bank was like the Wild West mask wise so I walked straight out again.

There's an elderly couple I see in Sainsburys every Monday morning where the man wears his mask properly and the woman wears it under her nose. I've wrestled with saying something to them (nothing arsey, just helpful) but she *must* know it's supposed to go over the nose if the husband is wearing it that way? I thought maybe she has trouble breathing with it on or something or maybe even has asthma but sees it as making an effort.

Either way, doesn't stop me from wanting to yell "it goes over your nose!!!" every single week..

Glasses?

Misting up can be a bit of a problem for some people, especially on entering a warm shop from outside.

Glad I rushed past Aldi then , instead of calling in on my way back from my appointment , as son suddenly messaged to say the Amazon order he'd done at 3am this morning for me was coming today and not Friday as expected. The way I was breathing , trying to do a mixture of super fast power walking and running , whilst having a red blotchy face from just having it waxed, I was being given an even wider berth by any passers by than usual !

Glad the Co-op was good on the mask and distancing front.

I don't work on Mondays, but there has been an older bloke coming in daily since the beginning of covid, he wears a mask..... ON HIS CHIN! Even when he didn't have to wear it, where was it? ON HIS CHIN! most of the time he has a big dew drop hanging from his nose ready to drip onto self scan...... You have no idea how much I want to grab him by the collars and scream at him!

Annnnnd away!!!

My lateral flow tests ordered through the. Gov site arrived today.... along with a pcr test as part of a new trial..... Seems they want me to do both next time I take a test and send off the pcr test in especially supplied packaging.....

I wasn't having a go at you, we've been friends long enough for me to know how poorly you were and how you've been affected long term
Pees me off when I see customers get so close to all of you, that you can tell if they had garlic the night before, or brushed their teeth that morning. Social distancing doesn't seem to apply in shops.
Managed 8 hrs in the face covering, the first 2 I felt very light headed, but got over it.. Thunderbirds are go.

I think they both wear glasses if I recall.

To be honest I'd have thought most people would have a technique down by now, I can usually wear mine with no fogging issues. The absolutely God-tier* solution is a mask with a nose adjustment wire, glasses down over the top of them, cap with a peak pushing down on the glasses. That's how I managed to wear one throughout that gig with no fogging issues.

* the mere mention of tiers gave me a slight shudder.....

Just a random bit of data, but I noticed the local vaccination uptake rate has been pretty good, though with a 7% drop-off between first and second doses.

My dad wears the face covering over his mouth but not his nose. He has COPD and struggles to breath walking around. He doesn't want to go into a shop without one though as he knows it's important to help stop the spread so he says it's better he is at least coving his mouth.
I know this isn't the case with most people not wearing them properly but sometimes it might be worth knowing there may be a reason for it and if you feel you need to challenge them to be kind when you do 🙂

The weird thing about Boris and his Christmas party is I first heard about this, I think, over the summer. Might have been longer, time is strange now. Does the fact it has blown up NOW, three weeks before Christmas, give anyone else the feeling that the timing is a deliberate attempt by some sections of the media to almost discourage people from being careful this holiday season? It definitely feels to me like a seed of "well if they won't even follow their rules.." is being sown.

I think it's more being framed as they think they are better than us and don't care about the little people. Hopefully that will be shown in the byelection on Thursday.
