It at least has been something of a comfort that this discourse has happened so late into our ordeal.

There is a difference between arguing about whether the latest Stephen King adaptation is any good or not, or if you should follow the mandated guidance of a public health ordinance or not, in the middle of an health emergency.

This is the difference here.

Somebody might argue that watching The Mist is a terrible waste of your time. I may take, or leave, that advice. If i choose to watch it, and don't like it, what have i lost?

Somebody might argue that taking this jag is a terrible waste of my time. I may take, or leave, that advice too. But now i know that if i choose to take the jag i'm less likely to become ill, i'm less likely to make other people ill, and i'm less likely to have long term health issues.

This isn't a matter of opinion, it is a matter of fact.

OK guys I need some advice. I've just received completely out of the blue a box of COVID virus test sets. Now I saw somewhere that SCAM test sets were being sent out (for whatever purpose I don't know) so I'm just a bit suspicious, made more so by the guarantee certificate all printed in a far eastern language, which you can see in the pix.
Is this legit ? is what I'm asking. It looks pretty legit, but I figure some of you guys who test themselves over and over might be able to give some advice.
(If you think this is a daft question fair enough ... but remember I'm on Chemo and therefore a teensy weensy bit paranoid, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.)
BEHOLD !!

If in doubt, just throw them away.

Yes @Mudgie I should have included that shouldn't I ? ... here's the postage label, which I'll admit does look pretty genuine, but ... these days scams can get very sophisticated. (Me being paranoid again, I'm not really paranoid, it's just that everybody is out to get me !!! :heyhey:)

Yes it includes my address but I'm not difficult to find and the wrong people who turn up at my door will go straight into the piranha filled tank underneath the step. ... (oh shit, my paranoia is showing.)

Edit - Picture containing address removed...

That looks genuine enough although the return address is Royal Mail not NHS premises.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Unless you have specifically requested COVID tests recently then bin them. Just use genuine ones given to you by the NHS or bought from shops like Boots etc.

Also, I'd remove your picture @BobClay as it contains your postal address!

You are probably in the same position as me and are listed on your NHS records as immunosuppressed. I have also received a free pack of tests this week. The difference is I was told, by email (from the NHS), that I would be getting them.

The email also told me I could order further test packs for free and that if I test positive I will be contacted to arrange an emergency supply of the appropriate treatment (mostly antivirals).
