Now that many of you seem to be filled with uncertainty, about symptoms, tests and what to do next, maybe you should watch the programme on BBC from tonight about how mental health issues have mounted in the last couple of years and how enforcing rules and restrictions has, and will, far outweigh the virus...or whatever people have? It's getting colder and darker and that will naturally test peoples' immunity. Maybe those that have not been covered in hand gel and masks, and open to normal dirt will have increased general immunity?

I mean logically, yes, if you're reducing your exposure to the regular gamut of germs then you're going to be less protected against them when you next encounter them. However, none of those germs are at a pandemic level of spread nor have the fatality rate of covid so catching an office bug even with reduced immunity is not going to affect you as much as catching covid could. Thus reducing your immune response to one is worth the risk to protect yourself against the other. Also the focus has long been on mask-wearing over hand sanitising now that we know the virus is airborne and, for the ten zillionth time, an everyday mask stops you from spreading *your* germs, it does not adequately stop you from catching germs.

I've only watched half of that Panorama episode so I can't yet comment on your claim that it concludes that the mental health impacts of the pandemic outweigh the virus, but I highly doubt that's the case from what I saw so far (I'll happily return and correct this later if I'm proven wrong). Don't think that supporting preventative measures against a dangerous virus means that any of us are blind to the impact it can have on mental health.... I personally developed agoraphobia in the first year of it all.

I’m testing negative now but I still feel rougher than sandpaper! Kids are doing fine so far but I’m keeping them off all week. Eldest wants to play football on Saturday but she’ll have to have a negative test first.

We lost a close family member very early on to a suspected covid case and another family member to a confirmed case during the second lockdown. I don’t want to be in a position to knowingly pass on the virus that did that to another person.

My kids go to different schools, each school has 500 kids and the bus they use services a third school of a similar size. I’m sure it will be doing the rounds in the next few weeks but it won’t be because of me.

The lady on the phone at one of the schools told me off because apparently we shouldn’t be testing any more 🤷🏻‍♀️ But for clarity the NHS website recommends staying at home and avoiding others following a positive test.

The idea that not testing is the answer seems mental, if you gave someone aids because you never got tested they'd be rather unhappy about it!

What I was expecting has happened ! After person at desk ticking flu jab box , paperwork goes nowhere near harpooning nurse , who then whacked covid jab in before telling me the flu was still to come in other arm..... just got text from NHS telling me I'm eligible for covid jab so to get along and get it.

Nothing on my NHS record about either of them yet...

I've had messages about both of mine, covid and flu, I suppose pneumonia will be next

These covid shots ( and my latest bout of covid) get rid of my long term cough til they wear off.
Apparently( according to latest invite) you can have one 3 months after latest booster.....might keep invite texts and keep having them whacked in quarterly. Never felt so good 😂

See if you can find yourself a dealer, in case the official supplies dry up.

I had my bloods taken at the doctors and while there I had my flu jab, while emphasising I would only have that jab and not the other.
The doctor asked me why and they totally respected my opinion, while also stating the take up has been very low and people have obviously changed their views.

We all respect your decision. We don't appreciate any unsubstantiated claims you post on here

Of course they respected your opinion, they only jab people that want the jab, that is a given. Doctors are way too overstretched to treat people that don't want to be treated, and if you're one of the unlucky ones it won't be the GP that has to deal with it so again not his problem.
