If a band wasn't playing Birmingham it tended to be in Coventry so 89 for me in Coventry was like you. I loved it then small bands in the Sir Colin Campbell and bigger gigs at the uni, or was it a poly then. Either way, Cov in 89 was excellent.I'll have you know that 1989 was THE very best time to be out in Cov. I was just 18years old, working a good job at the Coventry Evenening Telegraph & a local dental surgery, had no responsibility other than paying my rent on my bedsit and keeping myself fed & alive, fantastic friends & Fantastic times..... Mr G's, the Pink Parrot, The Eclipse, Studio 21, Busters, The Bug & Black Bat, Porkies & Fishy Moores.
As much as I don't miss living in Coventry, those times were the very very best times.

Disclaimer. No reference to proper pubs, just where I was in Coventry in 89.
