Massive skill points to Butchers Perrys of Eccleshall, the carer went off to buy more faggots for me & a steak for himself, he got chatting to Steve the butcher about Salt Beef & the lovely butcher gave us sone to try out, Perrys have really gone out of their way to help each time we've been, nothings too much trouble, and everything we've had has been heavenly.

Split skills and cuffy to Decathlon at Wednesbury... Had reported to them that the front wheel of my gravel bike was making a grinding noise at speed, and also the front fork had worn down a mm or two on the inside to the carbon (in my opinion the tyres provided are probably a mm or two too wide)... They took ones look at the fork and said they would replace it and took the wheel in to try and fix it.

Got a text saying they couldn't find fault with the wheel but replaced it anyway and it was ready for collection and that the fork was still waiting to be delivered from France due to stock issues.

I drove down to Wednesbury to collect the wheel this morning and when I arrived they handed me both the wheel same fork (they haven't told me it had arrived)... So now have to drive back down with bike on Friday to drop off so they can fit said fork #facepalm

Question. Last week I had a leaflet for guttering cleaning/maintenance service offering it for £49. I need some work doing and got a quote which soon expanded to around £600. Regardless. I carried out my due diligence and this company First Choice, they have zero web presence, no web, no reviews, no FB page, no Yell listing. Nothing at all, apart from one and its in the comments about dunston bc, how the person behind it scammed. Strong words and no evidence was offered.
My question, has anyone any experience of these? I am avoiding if course due to nothing online which is a red flag for me.

In all fairness people have said he is an ok guy so maybe he is just bad at marketing and getting his trading name out there.

I know somebody who had him a few years ago and was happy enough to have him back for a second job - I'll see if I can get an assessment of that second one, although I would probably have heard at the time, if it wasn't considered a success.

It might take a few days for a response.

Not really what the thread was intended for but I want to give a big thumbs up to the lovely Staffordshire people using Facebook Marketplace.

It's one of those things that gets some stick once in a while but when it goes right it's great, last few sales have go without incident or drama and I've had some lovely bits and bobs recently on the purchase side (also I love a bargain)

Cuffy to Halfords...
Ordered a long sleeve cycling Jersey on Monday via click and collect, went in today to pick it up, and found it on a hanger hanging from a cabinet at waist height in the workshop...I think it had probably been there since I ordered it on Monday. Luckily it hadn't attracted any dirt, but why they couldn't have bagged it up is anyone's guess...

Skill points to the ladies in Sainsbury's for helping me reach a pair of slip on shoes at the bottom of the rack and then helping me put my goods through the till. Much appreciated in my current predicament.

@littleme can you please pass on my thanks to your colleagues?
I'm in on Wednesday I'll let them know.... Or you could fill in the lettuce-know... https://www.lettuce-know.com/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

At the bottom of the recept there's an address (hopefully the one above) if you mention the colleagues, then it's passed on to them by the CTM's, we usually get a certificate & a picture in sainsburys version or Facebook, but sometimes very good colleagues receive a gift voucher too!

Or candles that stink of Cat Pee!!!
To be fair, the smelly candles weren't from 'lettuce-know', they were the prize for being the first person that day to receive a mention via 'lettuce-know', I much prefer the gift voucher....

Ok I'll look into it and do that. I didn't catch their names but the one who helped me at the till said she was new.
