After a few enjoyable pints of Joules blonde yesterday in Church Stretton I booked a room in the town to be able to further enjoy the sunshine and beers.

Unfortunately the Joules pub could only do food for those who had already booked because they were starting to run out of food so I booked a table at the Bucks Head over the road and ordered chicken gyros with pitta bread, Tzakziki, salad and fries but when the meal arrived there was no Tzakziki.

None of the staff mentioned this nor bothered checking if everything was ok until about 20 minutes after my food was served and when I mentioned that it was too dry without the Tzakziki a pot of "english" sauce sachets was dumped at my table instead.

When they eventually came to clear my table of my half eaten meal they asked if everything was ok and when I explained that I wasn't able to eat the pitta because it was too dry the chef was summonsed and claimed that as it was a bank holiday he hadn't had time to make any Tzakziki. I politely questioned how long it takes him to make a 10 minute dish and why he couldn't have just dispatched one of his minions to the Coop across the road instead.

Anyway the conversation ended with chef apologising to me but not for the spoilt meal but for my attitude, wtf!!!

Gyros without Tzatziki is just plain wrong & as you said it literally takes a couple of minutes to make. By the sound of his attitude with you, you were probably better off without it.
We need a “proper proper” Greek place in town.
