After a pro-longed period of being for sale, the Fayre and Square pub on the A34 is to close from 5pm on the 1st March 2018
This Darlaston Inn at Meaford is a large family pub with a Wacky Warehouse facility.

To mark the closure, the current management team are holding a closing party on Sunday 25th February 2018 and everyone’s invited.

The pub has previously been a great go-to destination for families with its large car parks and outdoor play areas. It was a great place to meet friends and relax when the sun was shining.

Darlaston Inn General Manager Simon said:
“The team and I are devastated regarding the news we would like to thank all current and previous staff and would also like to thank our guests that have supported us and help we hope to welcome everyone on Sunday to join us throughout the day and let the Darlaston close down in style.”

The news has come as a shock to staff and customers with the announcement only being made recently.

A spokesperson for Greene King, who own the Fayre and Square brand, said:

“As a leading pub operator and brewer, we are committed to running high quality community pubs. To be able to continue to invest in our estate, from time to time we have to make difficult decisions and therefore after much consideration we decided to put Darlaston Inn on the market and a sale has now been agreed in principle. The pub will close on Thursday 1 March and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers who visited over the years. Our team at the pub are aware of the situation and we are working to find positions for as many of them as possible at other Greene King pubs in the area.”

I don't know why they need another petrol station, there's 4 to my knowledge, with the FilleyBrooks on a few hundred yards away.
