Daru Chini, Eccleshall

Often overlooked due to the popularity of London House, four of us called in last night, one of those spur of the moment things whilst in the pub.
Couldn't fault either the service or the food. Four mains, four sides, four pints of Cobra, four glasses of wine £54.00.
Four complimentary Baileys thrown in too.
Recommended.

Is that the one on the left hand side as you come to island from the newcastle road (A519)?

Never eaten in there but had takeaway a couple of times (it's my local now) and I really do like the food.

i would make a special journey from Stafford (over other balti places in Stafford) to go Dari Chini, but the last time has very much because the last time because, we felt rushed and also the waiter (young plumpish lad) was sweating buckets going in and out of the kitchen handling the plates and bowls of food, ummm, seeing that put me offa my peshwari nann to be honset.

Presentation wise, both food and people working there, is key.

I know of three different people that come over from Stafford for takeaways from The Tandoori Kitchen on Small Lane. Always have ours from there, bonus for us is that we have to walk past it on our way home from The Oak. Result!

Last couple of times we've been in we both thought that the meat / sauce ratio had gone down somewhat.
It's making the couple of quid extra you pay at London House seem much better value.
London House nearer to the pub as well, an important consideration with the current weather!

Called in last night, again one of those spur of the moment things. Quality has definitely taken a downhill slide. Very skinny with the meat content. Four starters, two mains, two sides, two naan, two rice one wine and a couple of pints came out just shy of £80 so not cheap either.

I agree it on a downward slide. We have lived in Eccleshall for 15 years and eat out once every two weeks (on average) with this place being our default (for much of the first 10 years). I would say that we have eaten over 100 times. However it was placed up for sale about a year ago and ever since we have noticed a real downturn in quality. So much so that we have changed over to London House for our Curry needs which is altogether better. A couple of weeks ago we decided to see if they had improved things and returned to the place and found the meals ok.... well until a few hours later when Mrs LLFC discovered the real cost!!!!!!!! Sunday, Monday & Tuesday was a write off. SO SO SAD TO SEE THIS PLACE IN (WHAT I THINK) TERMINAL DECLINE AND MRS LLFC WILL NEVER RETURN.
