Decent doctor surgeries.

Alfred Wainwright said that “There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing" but I don't trust anyone whose preferred tipple is a pot of tea.
Then I am seriously untrustworthy. It int very often I turn a mug of tea down. But i'll pass on the alcohol ty

Well that's me then. But I do force the frail and elderly to sit in the rain

Pleased to live in the catchment area for Gnosall surgery. Rang yesterday just after 08:30, was advised of telephone or video consultations only and to await a call back from a doctor.
Had a call back at 10:10, after going through the symptoms an appointment was made for a 'face to face' today. Within minutes I received a text confirmation and have had a reminder this morning. Well impressed.

My doctors are a disgrace!

Called at 8am for an appointment, for my daughter who has an eye infection.

11.30 am Doctors is happy that a phone consultation will suffice and says the prescription with be ready at the dispensary call down and grab it.

Get down there in my lunch break, all locked up and shut for the afternoon for training. Ffs and now the chemist won’t give her anything because the doctor prescribed something already.

I am have no more appropriate words.🤬

Wife had to call our doctors around 250 times this morning to get though. Renowned Bitch of a receptionist took her number down wrong (managed to add 2 additional digits but somehow didn’t realise). Then after a 3 hour wait and another 50 call attempts managed to get back though and corrected the wrong number. Still no call another 2 hours later. But when she called this time they are closed Thursday afternoons for training. So she pops down to see if anyone is going to call. Apparently the doctor did try twice but no one answered. No idea who they called as the wife was glued to her phone all day.

either most surgeries are completely shite or we use the same place.
I think it’s more likely the former. I was recently refused my repeat prescription blood pressure meds at the surgery pharmacy as it was “overdue a review”” & was told to phone in next day at 8am to make a doctors appointment. (This was after standing in a queue on their carpark for 15 minutes.) When I asked why they couldn’t inform me of this when I’d ordered the meds online6 days earlier the reply was “the system doesn’t allow them to”
When I called at 8am the next day (caller 14 in the queue)the earliest available appointment was 4weeks later & they don’t do face to face appointments “ the doctor will call after 9am & if she needs to see you she’ll book a face to face appointment. The call came at 1140 on the day & lasted 6 minutes for the meds to be authorised for another year.
If there was an alternative I’d have gone years ago. Nowhere anywhere near me is taking on new “patients”/ customers

Getting us ever closer to the point where privatisation won't seem so bad...

Are doctors surgeries already private?

I use Wolverhampton Road. Diabolical. Have tried to get an appt every Monday for the past month. Appts are only released on a Monday unless you take one of the daily emergency appts.

That’s what we’ve done now. Bupa and Babylon, we’ve turned around an adult ADHD diagnosis and a multitude of physio appointments and referrals in no time.

Not cheap, mind you. Few hundred per person but it’s corporate insurance so only the BIK to worry about
