Dehydrators

I have decided to go on a diet because i have piled the weight on, with giving up smoking and having a sit down job, so i bought a dehydrator and even though it is only been a few days i have dried some fruits and even made my own Beef Jerky and i must say it all tastes better than what you buy and there is something addictive about trying new things to dry, so far i havent had a crisp or any sweets , if your looking for something different to do or have an interest in dehydrating food then it is worth ago, a word of warning if you want to do beef jerky do some research on appropriate machines or ask and ill help.

I've made jerky lots of times in the oven, used beef but also turkey on a couple of occasions. I agree it tastes and lot better than the brought stuff.

To be fair...

It's about eating less AND getting some excercise.

That's if someone is in it for the long term.

To be fair

If it's purely about weight loss the science says eat less / better

That will do it

But exercise is good for the whole body, particularly the brain

Alcohol is a poison

And dogs die in hot cars

I gave up biscuits and sugary snack things about six weeks ago and feel loads better, I have dropped a dress size, I walk loads anyway so can't really increase that, but I now do Pilates for fifteen minutes every day too. I am surprised by how easy it's been not to eat desserts when I'm out and not to look for a quick fix by raiding the biscuit tin when I get home from work I usually eat a banana instead. I've not cut out anything else alcohol is still on the menu at weekends, very rare I drink in the week anyway, as I'd never make it to work.

Bananas are full of sugar! Its so very difficult to totaly give up sugar as its hidden in everything....eat less/move more....

Banana go leathery and they are much nicer than the dried ones, i suppose you might be able to get them to go hard but a lot of the ones you buy in shops are fried, slices of Apple dusted in Cinnamon and dehydrated until there leathery are very nice. I am actually selling the Dehydrator i bought a few weeks ago because i got the bug and have bought a bigger one.
